Tired of pumping that lower unit lube pump to fill your lower unit? Well I am. I looked around to see if I could find an inexpensive electric lube pump, but no luck. So I put together an electric oil pump using a small cheap 12 volt electric fuel pump, an extra lube pump I had laying around, a push button switch, some wire and a accessory plug, and some PVC board. I haven't used it with the outboards yet, but doing a test run on the work bench, it seems to work well. Colby

I think I'll still like my fabricated electric one. If it fails, I still have three of the original hand pumps. lol. Colby

I like it. The hand pump I use takes like 200 pumps at least to empty a quart. I did not know that style pump would work with a fluid the viscosity of gear oil. Let us know how well it works.

I did test it by pumping back into the bottle and it seemed to work fine with the viscosity. I'm hoping it does just as well pumping into the lower unit. I'll find out after the Upper Tennessee River trip when I do the winterization maintenance.
