Hey Gang - I am looking to repower a 16' Angler I just puchased with and main and kicker, but I am worried about too much weight on the transom and stern.

What I am considering is a 40 EFI remote and a 9.9 tiller with PS/PT for the kicker. That is going to be about 300lbs hanging of the transom and weighing off the stern. Is this going to be too much??? Anyone running a similar power configuration?

Idlechater, I've got a carbureted Honda 50 and a 6HP Johnson on the back of my 16 Angler and it seems appropriate. It doesn't seem stern-heavy and the boat handles it fine.
I would highly recommend a Permatrim on the new motor as it really gave me a lot more trim control that I didn't have previously.
Best of luck!

When we had our 16 we repowered it from an old 2-stroke to a Mercury 60hp EFI four-stroke. It was no problem. The four-stroke was bigger & heavier but it worked very well on the boat. Here’s a pic and you can see the boat sits nicely with the new motor. We did not run a kicker, however.
