I see that some folks post pictures into the text rather than the album. How does one do that? I have been unable to copy and paste into the text. I have tried to copy directly into text as well as push the IMG button... but nothing happens.
Also, now I have tried to add pictures to my album, but get a message that I am not allowed to do that. I have tried deleting all my cookies and other stuff as suggested previously, but nothing happened.
Thanks |

I found that I have to post a picture to my album, then I can link to it in a post.
You might be able to link to a picture somewhere else (e.g. Google Photos) by posting the url of the photo using the url tags. |

One other comment, it is necessary that the picture (which can from many different sources--it does not have to be the album--should end in one of the standard photographic compression conventions, such as .jpeg There are several other conventions which will work. I just convert all of these to jpeg.
You will probably have to have any ad blockers turned off. _________________ Bob Austin

It would be nice to have a tutorial on how to post. On a Mac, or Android you just drag your photo to where you want it and drop it. That is how the world works and allows conversations to be precise and fast. I'm kind of shocked actually that this site is doing so well without these features. It is my favorite site to get accurate info. But how much better it would be is you could back it up with photos and not have to paste them somewhere else first (wherever that is). With drag and drop the photos are only on the post and not the site. But what do I know, I'm just a salesman and a very poor computer technician.
While on the sight I'm sometimes nudged or reminded that I could search the archive and find a lot about the myriad of topics. I've never had a time when the search worked. If I put a subject in it sends me somewhere else. Could it be a Mac issue? Same on ALGCA.
So I'm thrilled to be here, but imagine if these items all worked, and we could see what we're talking about more clearly.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I will try them out after Xmas. I am now visiting family and the grandkids are little noisy. Can't focus very well on learning new internet tricks. |

Making it fast and easy to put pictures in posts has a tendency to fill up a forum with lots of random crap. Making it an effort to post an image of something means that the poster has to think the image is relevant enough to the topic to make doing the work to include it worth the trouble. |
