With Simrad USA headquartered right up there in Lynnwood, WA, I would expect at least one or two C-22's are using their autopilots.
Any comments pro or con on these units?: They do seem to have a couple of advantages over Raymarine, especially the mechanical steering version.

I don't know about the autopilots, but I do know there are other things a guy can purchase in Lynnwood that are superior to the other major brands. For instance - I bought my truck at Lynnwood Dodge. _________________ TyBoo Mike

Don,
I don't have auto pilot yet, but I have been looking at the AP14 myself. They don't seem to be as popular as other models, but a friend of mine has one on his boat and loves it. _________________ Roger

Roger
I like the idea of a handheld control, and it's very easy to install a second control most anywhere on board. The reports on "The Hull Truth" are favorable as well. Plus if one goes hog wild later and installs hydraulic steering, there's no need to buy a different autopilot.
Decisions decisions.
