Both Tinker Toy and Alexa Jane (soon to be Emma Mae)

The only rules of physics I remember are: 1. Water is harder than rock. and 2. Gravity always wins. Thanks for the info regarding your experience.

Both Tinker Toy and Alexa Jane (soon to be Emma Mae)

Thanks. I guess I'm just lucky with the claw. We have boated and used the claw in The Keys, the Great Lakes, Desolation Sound, BC and never had a problem with set or holding. But I certainly don't have the boating experience that Dr. Bob has so I will rethink what I should do.

You are right Harvey. Condition does matter. We passed on one boat due to that very reason.

Both Tinker Toy and Alexa Jane (soon to be Emma Mae)

were both Florida boats. They both had 11 lb. Lewmar Claw anchors. Is that really enough for a 22? I've had sailboats before in the 25' range weighing 4,500 lbs. I had 16.5 lb claws on them and never thought I was over anchored. We will have 80' of 1/4' high test chain on the boat. Do I need...

The value of any C-Dory IMO is in relation to how well it is equipped. Some are basically bare bones with limited equipment while other are fully tricked out and need nothing but gas and you are good to go. We expect delivery of Alexa Jane today. It is at the low end equipment wise. GPS...

    Boat insurance

Surprised at your experience with Progressive, I've insured 13 different motorcycles with them and my current C-Dory. They have always been competitive. I had two motorcycle claims and they didn't increase my rates. Glad to hear you found something that worked for you. Some have called a...

Tinker Toy is on her way to Maine. The transport driver is

Harvey, When I started riding again at 56, my first bike was a Honda Shadow 1100. A typical cruiser style bike. Unfortunately, my riding skills weren't up to the task and the bike was totaled :thdown Other than a Wee-Strom, the rest have been Beemers. But the current one is for sale which...

Tinker Toy is on her way to Maine. The transport driver is

You know me only too well. I only owned 5 Seawards, hardly cornered the market and one I never got in the water after many hours of rebuilding the whole interior. It did get wet when the fire department arrived at my house and spent one and one half hours pumping water into it. Emma Mae will...

Tinker Toy is on her way to Maine. The transport driver is

going to deliver her then head to MD to pick up Alexa Jane and bring her back to our house. Get to insulate another V-berth and trim it out in cherry wood. Not sure what other projects Nancy may have in mind. We are discussing a new name. Combining our mother's names it looks like Emma Mae is...

Posting for sale ads from other sources on this site (?)

Thanks Bob, I was sure that there was more to it than at first glance. I agree with.

Posting for sale ads from other sources on this site (?)

My opinion is yes. I know there may be more "trust" of a C-Brat seller, that just may suggest more due diligence would be needed to buy from another listing. But we are new here and don't have the historical background to make a good opposing argument.

    Our Crabby Lou 2.0 adventure!

How I envy you. Congrats to all. It's great to see a boat stay in the family and to have someone to show you the ropes. Exemplifies what the C-Brats are all about.

    Debating between a 16' and 19'

Sadly we are not. The replacement boat we bought will arrive here via Ushp. Have a couple of Brats express interest. Have a guy from Arkansas that originally called about the BMW motorcycle I have listed, then he called back Saturday night saying he is interested in the boat. Wanted to come...
