I found that my port engine's prop had suffered a hit that bent 2 of 3 blades, one has a small crack as well, so I went to order new props. I could not find an exact replacement (11.25 x 13) so I went with 2 Solas that were listed as 11- ?/5ths X 13. Can't remember the "5th's" but I mistakenly calculated them as 11.20 diameter....they are actually 11.62 diameter. I have plenty of clearance to run them on my Honda 45's, just wondering what the slightly larger diameter will do. I assume that it will knock down my WOT slightly if anything (was a max of 5900-6000 previously). Would those in the know agree? _________________ Snal~

IMHO, with all other things being equal, the larger diameter props should allow a little less slip with their better bite because of their larger area, and have just a bit more friction with the water, both dropping your rpm slightly.
But them again, I'm no Prop Guru, either!

Thanks Joe!
I'd hoped to try it out this weekend, but the twins are also due for an oil change and I didn't have the time.
Hopefully I'll try the new props out next weekend. |

Larry, why don't you let Jo take the kids to the doctor for their oil change and you take the boat out??

Ha ha ha!...I needed that!
She never specifies the premium synthetic blend, and frequently fails to put them back in the garage. |

FWIW....
Switching from 11.25 x 13 to 11.625 x 13 props on my twin Honda 45's reduced my WOT RPMs to 5500 (down from 5900) and this was VERY lightly loaded. No speed info as I forgot my GPS. |

This is exactly why I find it imperative to read every comment on this site. Without adhering to this practice a person would truly miss their "daily laugh" .

Thanks. I'm truly humbled. My bride says I'm immoralized.
Not sure it was a compliment... on edit: She claims she said imortalized, that's not the word I heard!
You really gotta get down to our place on the bay. Dock, water, power, free apartment with shower, kitchen etc. Any one else want to compliment me? Didn't think so.
