Here is the view from above.
Here is the awning tied up at the top of the bow rail all the way around.
Three eyenuts were installed. One middle and two outer.
A 1/2" SS carriage bolt, e.g., http://www.mcmaster.com/#93180a208/=pbow9t and a matching eye nut, e.g., http://www.reddenmarine.com/sea-dog-078106-stainless-steel-eye-nut-1- 4.html were used. I cut a square hole in the fiberglass to match the carriage bolt shoulder.
I used gloss black enamel on the bolt heads after sanding them a bit first.
Awning was a basic square (I'll update side dimensions when I get back down to the boat). Sides were cut with a curve to stretch tight when corners were pulled. We used some leftover "Oyster" Sunbrella fabric.
