Lock at southern end of Great Dismal Swamp Canal. Down 9 Feet to Pamunkey River and thence to Elizabeth City and Albemarle Sound
There were lots of instances of damage to homes/piers and timber due to Isabel's passage about a month prior to our transit.
The only other boat in the lock with us and behind us in the canal was a 50' Sailboat. He drew 6' of water and apparently had no problems
