Remote switch is an option on the 1300. Otherwise there is a swich on the back of the unit itself, which is not very convenient if you want to turn on the heat before crawling out of bed!

Closeup of the kerosene tank. After running for about 4 hours on Saturday and 1 hour on Sunday, I honestly could not see a decrese in fuel level.
Forgot to get a photo of the thru-hull so this will have to do..its the larger one just behind the sink drain.
Shadows create an optical illusion, the wiring and cables are actually separated from the exhaust by a good 4 inches. The exhaust port also has a guard tacked to the top of it so really it's impossible for the wires to come into contact even if somehow they fell or sagged.
