The water was actually this color. I don't know if it was an algae bloom or what. The river running into the head of the Sound was a clear little trickle, so it wasn't that.
When I spotted this guy I told my wife that it looks too much like a brown bear to actually be a bear. We drifted into a very quiet little lagoon and watched.
Mackenzie Sound doesn't have much to offer other than scenery.

The store and fuel dock at Sullivan Bay. It had been a downpour a few minutes earlier.
We were joined by a fellow clam digger.
