The unit is retracted when not in use. In the Fall, it's easily lifted out and stored in the garage, leaving this space for storage.
Barrier drops into place. Unit is ready to turn on.
Unit is extended out for use. Return air enters through louvers in plenum wall, cycles through heat exchanger, and exits through the duct work. (Louvers, backordered, had not yet been installed when this pic was taken. They would be in the lower wall, midship.)

I used simple thin wall PVC for ducts. One exits here. The other moves cold air forward to the V-berth.
Teak louvers match those ventilating the fridge.
The unit slides out on rails when in use. Water drains to the bilge.
