This is my favorite picture from the narrow windy section South of Blood Creek.
Looking North as we head South.
Looks pretty shallow to me.
The two channels are separated by large areas of very shallow water.
About 10 miles up river from Kenlake Marina you come to Blood Creek. From this point the secondary channel becomes more shallow and twisting. It is also one of the most beautiful sections of the river we have seen.
We took this pic just because the cylinders looked curious. We would find out later in the trip that these are barge moorings.

We drove to KY Dam Marina on Thursday 10/16/08, the first day of fall break. There were clouds and light rain for much of the drive....perfect C-Dory weather. Our heater worked fine so we started up river. The wildlife started immediately with this bird just outside the marina.
