Had to stop and get a picture of the house I grew up in. The people who we sold to in 1968 still live there, saw me taking pictures, and invited me in. My bedroom was in the dormer. Blast from the past.
Here is another one. This is in a dredged channel over 20' feet deep. This is another log stuck in the bottom that would not be exposed at all tides. Not a problem for the Ocean Harmony, but my propeller would not like it.
I came across quite a few of these. This isn't a piling, it is a log that is stuck into the bottom of the middle of the river. I scanned it with my sonar. It is 24 feet deep here and it is stuck at this angle, so it is at least a 60 foot tree. The tide is low. At other levels it would be right below the surface.
I went all the way to the South Montesano bridge. Sorry about the focus. I was in an eddy.
I then went up the Chehalis river, where there are a lot more dilapidated waterfront structures. Be careful walking on that middle stretch.
