Earthquakes and/or tsunamis in Pac. NW

Now that I live in very dry Idaho, all I apparently need to worry about is Yellowstone. If is "blows" I'm a goner! Deena McDaniel former owner CD 22 "Sleepy C"

    Moving Ashore

You have been an inspiration to me and many, many others. You inspired me to retire a little early and enjoy family and travel. Life's transitions are easier when you can see the success of others, it gives you courage and hope! Thank you for your sweet friendship, though mine was a brief...

    Retirement, Free At Last

I know that retirement feeling. After 43 years of being a nurse, I retired this month! It feels strange, but good. I had the opportunity to own a 15' Monty and was it ever the sweetest little thing! So stable to sail and so easy to handle. Loved sailing on the rivers and lakes! I really...

    Ka-Boom

When something like this happens to people you care dearly about, it's more then just another news story. It hits your heart and soul! Thanking God today for His protection of both the injured boater and friends, Cliff and Julie, who were at home on their boat at the time of the explosion...

    Can a V6 Tacoma pull a 22' Cruiser?

That Tacoma that Hardee pulled the 22 CDory with was a 6 cyl and was an automatic. Yes, it would have been scary to take it on any kind of road haul! The Tundra does a much better job. Be nice to have one of the new big Tundra's or a nice 3/4 ton RAM diesel. Ah well...

bear attack and death in yellow stone

Well guns are not my thing, but the 30/30 was given to me by an elderly person who had carried it for decades. I've never been sure I could have shot it, very glad I never was put to the test! I know there are far more advanced weapons now days! I've been told you can't carry a weapon in a...

bear attack and death in yellow stone

I'll get some bear spray and go have a great time! When riding trails my horse was my "first alert". The 30/30 hanging from the saddle may have been my "second"... it's so much nicer to see them on the shore and be comfy in the boat watching from afar!

bear attack and death in yellow stone

Apparently the last Bear caused death in Yellowstone was 1986. This was an "act of nature". I will error on the side of great caution when I visit Yellowstone for the first time in a few weeks.

    One less rattlesnake

357, oh my word! Not much of the creature left, that's the best kind of snake to me. I grew up in The Dalles, OR and had several encounters with rattlesnakes.
