Here is what I used and am still using 2 years later. The bolts that came with the risers were a little long so I made spacers. The risers are not cheap but I tow the boat long distances at highway speeds with no worries. I like the fact that I can move them easily if I decide to obtain...
I’m sitting on the C-Otter this chilly morning in Canada toasty warm with our Webasto diesel heater. If you plan on boating in colder weather this is the way to go. Colby turned me on to this a couple years ago. Warm is good!
Hi Dale
We are presently at Peterborough Ontario heading slowly towards Georgian Bay. We will look for you on Nebo as we travel on…. We only plan out a couple days ahead. You’ll have a great time boating the north channel. We hope to do it and more of Georgian Bay another year.
I’ll work on...
Decadence is the best product we’ve ever found. Our is 10 years old and it still looks like new not cheap but always looks good. We fish a lot on our boat and it never gets stained. We like the dark gray.
Just a few thoughts about C-Brat gatherings.
The biggest problem is finding a marina that can accommodate all the attendees. We’ve been challenged even at Hontoon Island because of hurricane damage but we’ve been able to make it work so far.
We did have a C-Brat gathering at Isle Royal some...
After action reports for our 12th annual Hontoon C-Brat event. First of all thank you to all that attended this event. 12 years ago I would have never guessed it would still be going strong. 22 boats this year plus a few other C-Brats that attended without their boats. Of course the gathering is...
Definitely go with a horizontal windlass as the area that stores your anchor rode is not very deep. A lewmar 700 is what you will find on most C-Dory 22s and 25s. The pro fish is nice but the basic one works well also.
Showers are open at Hontoon Island State Park.
Channel 72 will be the C-Dory channel.
Everyone be prepared to help others with the slips. They are mostly short but work well for C-Dorys.

We have a fair number of new C-Brats who will be at the gathering that have not anchored a lot. So I’ve decided to talk Wednesday about anchoring basics. I always love to spend the night on the “hook”. It’s always cool to wake up to manatees snorting next to the C-Otter.
Looking back at my...
Just a reminder that the camp store is not open. Please be sure to provision your boat before hand.
Temperatures can vary from about 30 degrees to 90 degrees in March so bring layers for comfort. Rain gear can also come in handy.
If you have name tags be sure to bring them. If you don’t have...
I love the C-Brats motto. No rules……just be nice. Looking forward to seeing all my nice C-Brat friends at Hontoon.
A couple of updates…
For those that are staying at Lake Beresford Yacht Club dogs are welcome on leashes. We have 3 boats planning to stay there so far and a couple launching...

Joyce and I will be launching on Monday March 3rd. at Ed. Stone park and proceeding to Hontoon Island. We ask everyone that launches there to park as far away from the ramp as possible.
C-Dory channel is 72 please be on frequency when you arrive at the park. Most slips must be backed into so...
Report on Lake Beresrord Yacht Club. We stopped in at the Yacht Club yesterday and looked around. Beautiful clubhouse and dining room. We had dinner there with one of the members and the food and service was great 👍.
The private ramp had a floating dock and should work well for C-Dorys. Most of...
