    Dinghy Delima

Thanks for that @sean92056. It looks like your Saturn is even a bit heavier than my Cadet. It seems like this is going to be much easier to deal with on the water than my 'dry run' implied. I am definitely going to take it out with me next time and experiment with hoisting in/out and stowing...

    Dinghy Delima

Thanks for the replies everyone. I had hoped to delay any mods that involve drilling holes until proven absolutely necessary, but this really does seem like a good solution. There is a good chance I'll end up there. The Bote Deus Aero thing is actually pretty intriguing. Thanks for sharing...

    Dinghy Delima

My new (to me) CD22 came with a really nice Zodiac Cadet 230 aero. Seemed like a bonus as part of the deal, but now I'm not so sure. I just mocked it up with some scaffolding to see what it would be like to manually hoist onto the cabin top from approximately water level. Now I know I can do...

Finally found a 22 Cruiser (2013) and hoping for advice

Got out yesterday for some cruising and crabbing. The new props worked beautifully. WOT produced 6000 RPMs on the nose and we hit a top speed of 30 MPH. 4800 (80% of WOT) gave us a "fast cruise" of 20 MPH. Coming from a much larger inboard diesel, this feels like magic. I didn't even need...

    Ultra Light Dinghy Build Project

Nice to hear it wasn't too much of a production to get it in the cockpit. I suppose you never really have to take on the whole load since you can use the gunwale as a 'third hand'. Very encouraging. Regrading Catspaw, you can assemble it in the water. That might not be practical on a blowy...

    Ultra Light Dinghy Build Project

Thanks for the pictures. I just realized you reproduced the C-dory shear stripe curves on "Ripple". Excellent. Yes, I would 100% order the kit! Saves you time and the the precision probably makes assembly easier. I am super curious to hear how lifting her into the cockpit goes. I think...

    Ultra Light Dinghy Build Project

"Ripple" looks amazing! Nice work! I was also considering the Ultralight as a dinghy. Have you thought about stowage at all or are you only planning to tow it?

Finally found a 22 Cruiser (2013) and hoping for advice

I’m picking up two Solas aluminum 10.5 x 13 props tomorrow. Will hopefully get short maiden voyage in this week and I’ll report back on RPMs @ WOT and MPH.

Finally found a 22 Cruiser (2013) and hoping for advice

Hey all, Sorry for the radio silence. We did make the deal, but it has been a bit hectic! We had to drive through Everette, Seattle and Tacoma twice (once with a boat), spent two days at the dealer, two sea trials and all while working! Phew! So, I stared and stared and stared at the port...

Finally found a 22 Cruiser (2013) and hoping for advice

@Xtraplus18 Thanks for the reply — this is exactly why I posted. I'll call the dealer about the transom repair and ask for photos of the scratches. How extensive was the repair? And were you looking at buying it yourself, or helping someone else decide? The heat does indeed come from the AC...

Finally found a 22 Cruiser (2013) and hoping for advice

Long-time lurker finally posting — first, thank you all. I've been tracking C-Dorys here for over a decade and have learned an enormous amount from this forum. I may have found my boat and I'd be grateful for any input before I commit. **The boat:** 2013 22 Cruiser, twin Honda BF50s, 480 hours...
