My 16 has a Yamaha 4 hp kicker mounted directly on transom port side. With 12 gallons of gas on port side and battery on starboard it is a good balance. No problem getting on plane with yamaha F50.

The fishersmen of Ahousaht saved the lives of those 24 passengers and should be commended for it. There is a strong belief on the Island that the coastal first nations should be trained and funded to provide rescue operational capability. I think they have proven the need for it.

I was leaving Maple Bay the day they recovered that float plane. I recall seeing a cabernet striped 22. Must have been you. I remember I thought - what a nice colour for a cdory. I was in my cabernet striped angler 16. Enjoyed the post. Cheers Chris

Harvey That would be about the time frame. I gave a wave but my eyes are not as good as they once were. You are right, Maple Bay is beautiful. I remind myself how lucky we are each time we cast off.

I saw a 22 in Maple Bay doing what appeared to be a shakedown cruise. I was not close enough to see the name but appeared to be a black stripe. May be the same ShellBack spied at Sidney Spit?
