SOLD - 2002 C-Dory 25 for sale $50,000

It is finally time to sell our beloved Cosmic C, in which we have looped (see www.the-fowles.com) and cruised over 13,000 miles and which has been our trusted transportation supporting our island life in the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence river. Some details: • 130HP Engine...

Can I use the main hydraulic system to steer a kicker?

Many thanks to you all for your replies. The reason I was considering the hydraulic rout rather than the mechanical rout was that I want to operate the kicker with the main motor raised, and I couldn't see any way to do this with a mechanical linkage - see photo. [/img]

Can I use the main hydraulic system to steer a kicker?

After 12,000+ miles (including the Great Loop) on a single engine, I was recently given a 9HP kicker in good condition which I have installed for the price of a mounting bracket. It came with the throttle lines intact but no steering mechanism. It is currently bolted in a fixed position so that...

    Bow Flood/Spot/Search Light

We often run at night on the St Lawrence river, where we need light to negotiate the narrow entrance to our marina and to dock in pitch blackness on our island. We used a hand-held searchlight on our first boat, but had a remote-controlled spotlight installed on the bow pulpit of the Cosmic C...

    Our solar panel experience

Where did you mount your panels, Islander? If on the cabin roof, did they bend enough to be mounted directly on the curve? Thanks.

    25 motor size

I dunno. Bob keeps telling me that 130HP is underpowered, but I'm one BF130 owner who has been quite satisfied with this engine. We have travelled 11,500+miles on the Cosmic C, most heavily loaded for cruising. When new and without bottom paint, we saw 30+mph lightly loaded on smooth water...

    29 Venture Design Info

One of the 29s lives at the Mid Lakes Marina on the Erie Canal not far west of Macedon, NY. We saw it while getting gas there on September 23, 2012.

The famous Newark Dinner on the Erie Canal

Boy, lots of C Dory activity on the western Erie canal in the last couple of weeks! We cruised to Buffalo intending to go on through the Welland canal to Toronto and back to the St Lawrence via the north shore of Lake Ontario, but the weather on the lakes was so bad we turned around and returned...

    speed

We have a CD 25 with a Honda BF130 which now has 944 hours. We have travelled 11,554 miles, 7000+ of which heavily loaded for cruising, including doing the Great Loop. Our lifetime fuel consumption is 2.52 mpg. Heavily loaded we can reach 24 mph in flat water, lightly loaded 29 mph. We tend to...

    Spending extended time aboard...

We did the Great Loop in our boat and loved living aboard, even without a camper back. Moisture was often present on the cabin ceiling, but rarely a problem (even with the alcohol stove). We increased storage by adding shelves to the two lockers under the dinette seats, one above the hot water...
