    25 Cruiser Buying Advice

Thank you for that very detailed reply, I really appreciate it. Good to know the differences between the types of heads. I’m guessing your preference is just because the tank under the head is easier to access and work on, less chance for clogs. I’ll definitely take a look at those videos...

    25 Cruiser Buying Advice

I was lucky enough to join the group at the Hontoon Island rendezvous and had a great time meeting everyone and getting to see the different boats in person. My wife and I really appreciated how friendly everyone was, it's a really great group. After seeing all of the different models and having...

2026 Hontoon Island Gathering. March 3,4,5. DeLand Florida on St. John’s river.

I'll be arriving via vehicle since I'm just a curious onlooker for now but I'd be happy to make a stop on my way in if there's something that would be helpful for me to bring

2026 Hontoon Island Gathering. March 3,4,5. DeLand Florida on St. John’s river.

Are there any activities or anything you guys do on any days in particular during this meetup? I made arrangements to be down in Florida during that week and I'll for sure come by at least one or two days but since I'll be driving up from a different part of Florida I figured I'd wait until the...

2026 Hontoon Island Gathering. March 3,4,5. DeLand Florida on St. John’s river.

If I was only going to be able to come visit for a day or two, are there any suggestions on which days would be best? Besides unpredictable things like weather I wasn't sure if some days had more people from late arrivals or departures than others. Either way I'm really looking forward to coming...

2026 Hontoon Island Gathering. March 3,4,5. DeLand Florida on St. John’s river.

That’s good to know, thanks! The boats I’ve had certainly haven’t been wrong but also aren’t what I need for some of the trips I’d like to take with the constraints I have. Hopefully I can make it work, if I can I’ll be sure to mention it here. That’s good to hear about the wide variety of...

2026 Hontoon Island Gathering. March 3,4,5. DeLand Florida on St. John’s river.

Hello, I don't own a C-Dory or any other kind of trailerable boat but I'm very interested in buying one in the near future. I'm located in Ohio and there's not very many up in that area so it's challenging to see any in person. Would my wife and I be welcome to come down and visit for a day and...

Would love to connect with owners near Cleveland, OH

Hi John, sorry about the late reply I didn't realize apparently email notifications got turned off after the site upgrade. Do you mean it's covered up for the year? If so I'd feel bad asking to go through it, but maybe next year when it gets back to the water if you don't mind. The RF-246 seems...

Would love to connect with owners near Cleveland, OH

Hello, I've been looking in to these C-Dorys and other similar style boats for a while and wanted to see if there was anyone in the Cleveland, OH area that would be willing to meet up so that I could see one of these in person. I've never seen one in person, so although the idea seems great I'd...

How hard can you be on a C-Dory

I'm coming off a 1987 Sea Ray Sundancer 270 with the deep v hull. I do all of my boating on Lake Erie which has similar short period steep breaking waves and the Sea Ray does great. It's still no fun once you get consistent 3-4' waves but the boat will punch through them up on plane as long as...

Recommendations and experiences with a 22' or 25' cruiser

Colby thanks for the info on the towing weights since that's a big factor for me. I'll need a truck to tow this and was hoping I could get away with an F150 w/ towing package or a Tundra with them having around a 12-13k towing capacity and a 2000-2500 payload. The 25 might be pushing it but I...

Recommendations and experiences with a 22' or 25' cruiser

Something else I didn't think to mention, for these trips I'm imagining at least initially I think I'd have a goal of being out for 1 or 2 nights at a time - not to extreme or too long to get overly cramped with two adults and one or two kids hopefully.

Recommendations and experiences with a 22' or 25' cruiser

Thanks for sharing those thoughts, I appreciate the insight. Will the 23 Venture be a more similar ride to the 25 cruiser? Choppiness is definitely a reason I was looking at the Ranger Tugs and Cutwaters but given the primary purpose for this boat would be more inland lake and waterway cruising...

Recommendations and experiences with a 22' or 25' cruiser

Hello, My name is Dan and I'm new to this forum. I've been reading posts for the last couple of years as I've been honing in on what purpose I really want out of boating and it's becoming clear that a C-Dory or similar style boat would fit the bill. My two biggest criteria are something that...
