    anchoring etiquette

what are the benefits of adding a stern anchor to keep the bow into the wakes? Is is mostly to limit the annoyance of the rolling response to the passing waves while still aboard?

    anchoring etiquette

Lots of great information here - thanks. I would never anchor near the marked river channel as there is barge/tug traffic, but the rest of the lake often seems like a free-for-all with water-skiers and bass boats zooming every which way. Getting right up on the shoreline, however, invariably...

    anchoring etiquette

We have a 16' Cruiser that we use primarily as a mothership for our kayaks on Lake Guntersville (Tennessee River) in North Alabama. We like to find an interesting creek or piece of shoreline, anchor, and paddle for a couple of hours. My question stems from an ongoing disagreement about the best...

    sun protection for fuel line?

The fuel line from the fuel filter to the primer bulb then to the motor sits in the well behind the transom in my 16' Cruiser. The boat spends a lot of its time shaded in a covered wet slip, but is there some product that I could use to protect the fuel lines while out in the sun? A sleeve of...

noise management for Suzuki DF50 on my 16' Cruiser

Its an industrial sound level meter I was able to borrow (B&K 2250). Measurement was taken at the approximate location of my head when sitting in the pilot seat.

noise management for Suzuki DF50 on my 16' Cruiser

I would like to reduce the noise at cruising speed on my 2007 Suzuki DF50. Does anyone know if there is enough clearance under the cowl to add a layer of sound isolation panels? measurement at cruise 88.4 dBA octave bands: 63 Hz 89.1 125 Hz 93.9 250 Hz 92.0 500 Hz 87.0 1000 Hz 81.7 2000 Hz...

safe to drill here to add a kayak rack?

In an earlier discussion the general consensus was that it would interfere with the stability of our 2007 C-Dory 16' Cruiser to put kayaks on the roof - so I am wanting to install a Sportsracker kayak rack on the port side gunwale...

Can anyone tell me what this fitting is for?

i get it. [obviously i'm not a fisherman] yes, there are are rod holders on the aft end of the gunwales. so the outriggers just laterally offset the lines from the rods mounted in the rod holders i guess.

Can anyone tell me what this fitting is for?

yes, they are on both sides. In this context and outrigger is to mount a trolling rod I assume?
