    All chain rode for TC255?

We found that 100' of chain was all that was necessary in the PNW. Added another 100' of rope rode to that just in case. I don't remember ever paying out the whole length of chain.

    Bad Luck!

A 65 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience.. Seeing God, she asked "Is my time up?" God said, "No, you have another 33 years, 2 months and 8 days to live." Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the...

    TomCat 255: The Fishbox Problem

Rob. We drilled holes at the 4 corners of the gutter around the fish box. Water drained into the bilge rather than the fishbox. Also the drains in the bottom of the box helped keep it dry. See photos in my album for details. Roger

Do I need bottom paint for 60-90 days in Puget Sound?

Simple answer, No. A good pressure wash when you retrieve the boat will clean it up nicely.

    Northwest Lake Cruise

Priest Lake and Pond Oreille are beautiful. Just don't go too early! We went in early June and encountered Monsoon type rain, wind, hail and a funnel cloud! Lake Coure d'Alene is also fun. Most boats on those lakes are day use and folks looked at folks who stayed overnight on their boats strangely.

    TomCat in deck fish box

Regarding the Fish Boxes, I drilled four 1/4" holes in the bottom of the gutters. It just drains into the bilge and is taken care of by the pumps. I had 2 8D house batteries under the rear seat so the scuppers were a problem. 1 3/4" rubber sink plugs took care of that. We were seldom in open...

    House battery

We saw the result of letting a battery run dry and the charger left on recently. This was on a Golf Cart down the street. The house fire destroyed most of the house!

Lewmar 700 Pro or 700 Profish?

I had the ProFish on my TC255 and never used that feature. Save some money and skip the Free Fall.

Tomcat 25 Fresh Water Tank Size

Flboy77, I installed a false floor under the tank epoxied to two blocks that fit the hull's contour. No screws were put in the hull. The tank was secured to that false floor with straps.

Tomcat 25 Fresh Water Tank Size

The earlier TC-255s (2006)) had the 25 gallon tank installed on the Starboard side. I added annother tank and pump to the port side. Don't remember ever running out of water! It may be possible to replicate this on the Port side...
