20dauntless thanks for the response! i'm looking at ranger 21ec's....i figured no problem, but just wanted some real world experience insight.

thanks. i should mentioned the 21ec in particular...do you anchor out a lot? do you depend on charging batteries while underway or do you stay at a marina every third day or so??

how is the battery life during overnight stays while at anchor? Can you listen to stereo for awhile, cabin lights on, and then leave masthead/anchor light on all night without killing battery? Is the starter battery separate (1/2 switch) the stereo/masthead light?

foward does appear to allow for a much lower clearance...

i saw the show link on the ranger site and it doesn't list anything. however, a random dealer may have one down there. a road trip would be fun, but i'm flying down.... thanks for the suggestion!

my buddy came up with "tug life" a spin off of thug life, which in no way applies to me, but it is funny.

anyone know of any ranger tugs showing at the lauderdale show this year? i searched the show management site, and nothing came up yesterday. i'm making my annual trip down, and would like to check out some more 21ec's in person.

i guess it may vary with year. I definitely saw a EC with it off to the side. i'll try to find a pic. either way it does fold down.

i believe hinges to about a 45 degree angle to port.

the simple sirius radio antenna. i have a "car" kit that is neatly installed in my FJ, but want to go a more "hidden" on 21. just curious how it would look mounted to the top of the pilothouse. i have experience with this particular antenna and reception is great.
