    Thinking about new Dragonfly7 fishfinder/gps

Looking at the Raymarine Dragonfly 7 sonar/gps with Chirp technology. Is anyone using it now and if so what do you think of it? The new structure scan looks pretty interesting.

    Non-Ethanol fuel in Washington

This distributor sells non-ethanol gas here in Seattle. I believe that they supply the station on Lake Union and also Shilshole Marina. I buy my gas at their plant on the canal just east of the Ballard Locks I see them fueling lots of fishing vessels routinely. Hmmm,, I copied and pasted ,but...

    Light weight kicker motor

Hmmm, thought comes to me. Back strain and retirement nears. Why not keep your present kicker on the C-Dory and get a kicker for the Lund ? Sure there is some cost, but strained backs can cost a lot of doctor bills and enough pain to not use either boat.

    Port Townsend - Boat Haven

Here's a thought. Why not leave the car behind. Launch here in Seattle wherever you normally do,load a couple of bikes up,motor over to Port Hudson Marina where you have a slip rented. They have power available and you can tour the town by bike. Oh, they also have restrooms. You can cook...

    more shrimp

Who's going? I'm going. I'll be in the Reelsalty, a Hewescraft Ocean Pro, with 4 friends. I have not shrimped this far north before so it will be new territory for me. Probably be north of the Mukilteo ferry. If anyone has better suggestions, I will listen. Go luck to all.

Chromer, Sounds good! Last year we all gathered ai the Marina just So of the Everett boat launch and after a flag ceremony we climbed aboard and headed out to find the fish. What a sight Must have been 70 boats all working to get out of the breakwater. We all started out probably 4...

Salmon for Soldiers- Sept 13, 2014

This group has a really fun event with maybe 70 boats and over 100 vetrans. It is 1 day and what a blast it is and a great way to thank our wounded soldiers for their service and sacrifice. They are looking for captains and their boats to volunteer. I did it last year and will be happy to...

Rear steering station on a 22

I have a 2nd wheel on the starboard bulkhead and also a TR-1 Gold auto-pilot by Garmin. I have found that I tend not to use the steering wheel so much, but rather use the auto-pilot as I can carry it around with me. I have also found that if I use that wheel back there to get up on plane...

    While on a rant

I just read this thread and then went immediately to Pay Pal to donate. It allowed me to DONATE $5.00 only. I was prepared and planned on donating $35.00. Frankly, that would not be a big donation for such a good and useful website, but $5.00 seems to me to be woefully inadaquate. I would...

Piggy back stereo receiver to existing shakespeare 4187 ?

How about Siris Radio instead of AM/FM? I went to Best Buy about a year ago and for not too much money bought one , installed it and love it. Reception is good everywhere off shore that I have been. Does cost me about $15 a month, but no commercials, great reception, and I love the golden...

    Bilge pump issue

It is a bit unusual for both pumps to be on same switch. If switch is bad you will have no bilging ability. Buy a new switch, separate pumps install a new wire to new switch which includes a properly sized fuse and run it to either present aft pump or better yet a new Rule pump with at least...

    Bilge pump issue

Are you saying that both pumps work off from the same switch? Normally each bilge pump will be fused close to the battery, so look there first for a blown fuse. You should check continuity to the aft pump for a break or corrosion to the aft pump. If you have power at the rear pump but nothing...

PNW shops you trust for custom work?

Well, I have used Brown's Interiors in Burien for over 20 years for all kinds of work including PL( plastic laminate-formica) work while I was an apartment builder. My guess that for under $500 you can have a lot of laminate done. I had a C-Dory 22 for about 9 years and probably my biggest...
