    Honda's new Generator

Disagree. There is a difference between reactive and purely resistive loads. Those differences need to be and are taken into account in any larger scale AC distribution system. The power factor relates to how reactive (capacitive or inductive) the load is. I agree it usually isn't a big deal for...

    C-Dory 22 Accident

Did anyone ever dig up more info on this accident? I'm definitely interested in hearing more details.

Replacement Electronics Shelf + possible mods

Very nice! That gives me some ideas for sure! Thank you.

Replacement Electronics Shelf + possible mods

It's just a single plain shelf, no fascia. I'll take a closer look at it next time I get the chance. If it's a plywood of some sort, it's well disguised. Thanks for the tip - I haven't worked with it much, so this is exactly what I was wondering about. Thanks.

Replacement Electronics Shelf + possible mods

My overhead electronics shelf has had many things mounted and removed and moved over the years and it's beginning to look like swiss cheese. Of course, I need to drill more holes and add new things here in the near future, so I'm wondering if I should replace it altogether. It's the original...

Is 50hp too small for a 22’ Cruiser?

Exactly what I was referring to. I agree it'd only be under certain conditions and that's what I tried to articulate. I just wanted to throw it out there as something to keep in mind. Maybe I've watched too many Haulover Inlet videos? Nawwww...

Is 50hp too small for a 22’ Cruiser?

To add to the other comments... I think it also depends on where you intend to be boating. If strictly fresh water lakes, then no big deal as long as you're OK going slow. If you're going to regularly be in areas when you might be dealing with currents or a lot of tide action or so on - inlets...

    General Maintenance Out Board

Related... when running the outboard on trailer with muffs, could I or should I put it in gear at all? My muffs stay on just fine and I've only idled in neutral so far, but I've wondered if putting it in gear once in awhile might be a good idea (taking care to keep things clear of the prop...

    1992 22’ cabin key

My '91 has a modern looking key, but I'm not so sure it's the original lock (or door, for that matter).

First Time Power Boater - needing advice on a 22

Looks like the others covered most of the points fairly well, but I didn't see anyone mention the stove. That's an alcohol stove, I have the same one on my '91. It's a super simple design, so not a whole lot to service really... just maybe some cleanup and maybe replace the fuel cannisters if...

    Boating Alone

Very good report, good read, thanks for posting - and yes, smaller boat numbers are relevant to C-Dory... also greatly appreciate Bob pointing out that the category of boat the C-Dory belongs in is a small 4-8% subset of the small boat figures - very relevant data there too. All good - be safe!

    Boating Alone

Make sure you have a single-hand friendly way back into the boat... a ladder that you can get to from outside the boat at any time (in other words, not a side ladder that you have to set up from inside the boat). Don't think / assume you can climb in over the transom even with the assist of the...

New member in San Francisco Bay Area

Where in the bay area are you? I have a 22' Cruiser and up in the Sacramento area. I can't answer your question about the 25', but from what I've picked up is it's different in many respects - length as well as beam. I imagine tougher to tow as well... depending on where you plan to go. I've...

    Need Help With Stereo Wiring

No need to apologize - we all have our strengths and weaknesses and we all started somewhere. In your pictures, I see a yellow lead highlighted and a red lead highlighted... are you certain that yellow lead is coming from the back of the stereo and therefore the yellow lead that the...
