    2005, 25' C-Dory Trawler, $50,000

A lot of people, magazine articles included, have referred to the 25 Cruiser as "a trailerable trawler." Congrats, Judy, on the sale of Journey On, if all goes as planned. Plenty of C-Dory history on that boat.

    2026 Friday Harbor C-Brats Get-Together

The San Juan Island Tour is a great offering for the Friday Harbor participants! Having worked and lived on the island for 5 seasons, we discovered so many cool things about the island that you can't experience by boat. Very cool that you are giving participants other options for things to do...

    Cockpit Chairs? Yeti$$$?

We had a pair of those Kermit Chairs back in our motorcycle cruising days. They are comfortable, as long as you are OK with a low seating position (they do make them in a 3" taller model, but it is still lower than a typical camp chair). They fold up small and are built for a lifetime of use...

    C-Dory vs Tom Cat?

I am sure you will get a response from Dr Bob (Thataway) - he has owned 22 and 25 C-Dorys, as well as a TomCat. We owned a 25 Cruiser and traveled with friends who owned a TomCat. While the cabin on the CD-25 and the TomCat look pretty similar on a walk-through, they are very different boats...

Ways to improve cabin ventilation while away from boat

Hi Ed. We installed a solar vent in the hatch over the V-berth. Also put Hypervent under the V-berth cushions to allow air flow under the cushions. Our boat lived in the water at our dock when we were home. When in storage, we used one of those devices that Phil showed.

    Slapping

Very different hull shapes. You notice it when you have to slow down in the chop. Your kid will notice it at the fuel pumps. When the water gets ugly enough that he has to slow down, too, your slow ride in the C-Dory will be better. The boat can take it, but why put yourselves through the...

    Slapping

Your conscience may not appreciate this response. If you want your wife to enjoy being out on the boat with you, drive it to please her. When out on your own, pound it 'till your fillings are knocked out, if you want. While the boat can take it, most people don't like the pounding. When we...

1999 22' cruiser in central Oregon

Hey, Ken. Would you take $497,850? Is the trailer included in that price? I know you're going to say that I should come look at it before I low-ball you, but I'm going to have to take our nest egg and stop in Las Vegas on my way north. Just trying to figure out how many times I need to let...

Epilogue to Great Lakes to Inland Rivers Loop Segment Adventure (on FindPenquins)

Sorry to read about the accident, but so glad to hear you two escaped without serious injuries. It has been interesting following along with your adventures - sounds like, looking back, you two made all the right decisions, starting with the boat you bought. I wish you many more years of...

    New Owner- Mooring Question

Hi Keith - Welcome to C-Dory ownership. There are plenty of former sailors here who chose a C-Dory when making that change to a powercruiser. We had a dock at our previous home, but did spend time on moorings when we were cruising. I'll give you a couple concerns with a C-Dory on a mooring...

Custom made Origo stove covers and other stuff

Good to hear from you, Bud! There seems to be a bit of that "boatless" stuff going around. Great to see that you are still making cool boat related stuff. For those that weren't here back in the day, Bud and I go way back... to about 1989 or so, as sailing buddies, then we both made the...

Adding Photos to album on new site?

I looked through my photo album here after reading the above posts: yep, no particular order; plus, there are images in there that aren't ours. Could be an issue if some folks are missing those images. On the flip side, it was a fun walk down "Memory Lane" to look through the photos that are...

C-Dory 22 Center Console Person Capacity

With a length over 20', a passenger capacity placard isn't required. Generally accepted: boat length x boat width / 15 = passenger capacity. I have always thought that formula was a bit high for my comfort level. That would result in 10; I would never put that many people on a CD22 Cruiser...
