    Lewiston to Astoria

I had forgotten my pictures were also on here. Been a few years. Those poles are for ham antennas and were a one time only as decided to do some improvements and tried this and that and in the end a 21 foot boat is just too small for ham radio. It worked but not great.

    Lewiston to Astoria

Hey I did that trip in my C Ranger a few years ago and was a good trip. I had one hassle with a dam out of service but in the end it worked out ok. Few years later I thought I might do it again just to have a starter lock up on the motor and made that trip go to pot real quick. I was saved by...

    Is AIS in the house?

I found AIS to be very handy when transiting the Ohio river last year. I knew where the tugs were at ahead of time and they knew I was there as well. A few times they thought I was more than I was and came on the radio and asked how many barges I had. It also gave the folks running the locks a...

    LED Cabin Light

I got my 54 led anchor light off ebay for less than thirteen bucks. I forget exactly but price was not bad at all. I have the boat in the shed and cannot check it out much but does fit into the perko lamp shade ok. Replaces the 90 bulb and instructions say if it does not work just turn the...

    All Boats Must Stop!

I do not think my boat could pass. I took the online training at 100th Meridian Initiative and do not see where I could find 130 degree water to flush out the raw water in the 21EC. Plus everything has to be dry. That could be possible but would be very hard to prove you had it dry on a rainy...

    Washington State Tax Question

I think after living here all my life that, Washington state would be one to avoid if one wanted to avoid taxes, fees and permits. Moneys have be generated in on form or other to operate the state. Taxes are easy and the big income is from revenue that runs close to ten percent for sales tax...

    Laptop Dies

I have a Qosmio by Toshiba. It has a few years on it now. It is supposed to run off a 15 volt transformer and I went to Radioshack and got a plug and now run it off the boats battery that is less than the power unit so will run the laptop but not charge the battery. The laptop has a built in...

    Navigation Lights

I was at Cabelas the other day and noticed they had the plug in light for the white all around/anchor in LED style. I did compare it to the Perko and looks like plug and play to me. Cost was a fifty dollar bill with a nickel for change. I did not tumble at the time but think I will as looks...
