Upgrading AGM to LiFeP04 house batteries - Advice?

I am using the Victron Orion XS DC-to-DC charger, which is substantially lighter and smaller than their older options. Here's a rough diagram of my setup with a single LiTime 100Ah Bluetooth battery. I mostly fish and do not run too many always-on electronics (no fridge/freezer). LED cabin...

    Replacing Batteries CD 22

I am no expert, but my used 2002 CD22 came with a pair of NAPA 8240 batteries. The NAPA battery is only around $115 and seems to work for starting the motors and occasionally running a downrigger/pot puller plug. I replaced the house battery with a 100Ah LiTime lithium charged by a Victron...

    Cockpit Chairs? Yeti$$$?

I picked up two lightweight camping chairs. The chairs pack down very small and easily fit in my CD22 cabinet storage along with other gear. Compactness is more important than absolute comfort in my case given that I mostly use my boat for fishing. They're available if I need them and out of the...

What controls at helm do folks use for main and kicker?

I opted for a tiller control kicker, since I fish solo and sometimes want to steer from the cockpit. It uses a tie rod to the main and an Accutroll remote throttle control when steering from the helm. Full remote control seemed like overkill for my use case and size of the CD22.

Venture vs. Cruiser for fishing and ride - PNW

You've probably come across it, but Kael has a good video showing his CD25 setup. If you're ordering a new boat, I imagine you can get it without the cockpit railing and install mounts directly on the gunwales. I have a CD22 and use Burnewiin mounts. Convenient to swap between a rod holder...

    Grip tape

I used Gaco Deck on my home outdoor balcony, and I suspect it is the same coating the Washington ferries use on their outdoor passenger decks. It would probably last 10+ years without a refresh for your use case. Like Bob mentioned, Gaco Deck uses crushed walnut shells for the texture but the...

Does anyone use a kicker motor on the starboard side?

The motor weighs around 107lbs with the electric trim/tilt. https://www.tohatsu.com/marine/na/outboards/9_8_4st_1.html

Does anyone use a kicker motor on the starboard side?

I installed my kicker on the starboard side to keep the port swim step clear of rigging. When trolling I steer the kicker from the helm using a tie rod to the main with a wireless Accutroll throttle controller installed on the kicker.

    Relocating electrical

It's a good opportunity to do some research and learn how your boat electronics are powered. Use a DC wire gauge calculator, and remember the wire length is the total pos+neg length. You can account for the voltage drop by calculating the correct wire gauge without guessing or spending too much...

No power to motor and power trim

I mistakenly reversed the pos/neg connections for my kicker motor, so double-check that. The short burned out the fuse inside the motor. It worked fine after properly connecting the cables and replacing the fuse.

    How does a kicker steer?

I have been steering my kicker with a tie bar from the helm or from the tiller handle in the cockpit. The main issue is not being able to control the throttle from the helm, but I am thinking of getting the recently released "Accutroll" trolling speed control system. It's overpriced for what it...

This is a 2002 C-Dory 22 Cruiser. The previous owner bought it in 2009, and I found the classifieds ad here on C-Brats. https://c-brats.com/threads/sold-2002-c-dory-22-cruiser-34-995-anacortes-wa.11523/#post-142425

    Ladder for CD-19 Angler

The factory swim step is a clean option that can go over trim tabs assuming you have the space next to the outboard. I ordered one from the factory last year and installed it. Not cheap, but it adds a step as well as a ladder. The production time was several months, so be prepared to wait. A...

    Recommend a fuel filter

The Racor 120R-RAC-01 fuel filter should work for two motors. I recently replaced the one on my CD22 with a main and kicker. https://ph.parker.com/ca/en/product/marine-fuel-filter-spin-on/120r-rac-01
