The HLN 8Kw heater is US$845 from their website. I am very temped to buy one.

    Electric Heater

Just be aware that almost all the of 8Kw heaters are not really 8Kw. They are just relabeled 4Kw heaters. (HLN makes a real 8Kw heater and it is about 2x bigger than a 4Kw unit.) Unless you are in the very cold a 2Kw heater is likely sufficient for a cd 22 or 25. FWIW, I heat my two car garage...

How hard can you be on a C-Dory

Installation of a Permatrim is a lot less complicated than trim tabs. But it does involve drilling the lower unit of you motor. With trims tabs you have to run wires or hoses to the actuators/pump, provide power, and drill holes in the hull.

How hard can you be on a C-Dory

Trim tabs or a permatrim help a lot in the chop to get the bow down. This improves the ride quite a bit. However, a C-Dory is a light boat with a pretty flat bottom. It wants to go up and over the waves rather than through them. A Searay 240 has a deep v hull and weighs about 2x what a CD22...

Recommendations and experiences with a 22' or 25' cruiser

After some years owning a CD22, my wife and I considered upsizing from a 22 to a 25. After weighing the pros and cons we decided that the 22 suited us just fine.

CD25 Forward Portlight broken tension knob. How to replace?

The strut for the forward window is a Sea Dog part. https://sea-dog.com/groups/433-hatch-adjuster They used to sell a repair kit with replacements for the stuff that tended to break or get lost, but I haven't seen that for a while. You need to buy the whole thing.

    Electric Heater

I have used the Little Buddy heater on my 22. It is an infrared heater, so it heats things that absorb IR, but not really the cabin air. Since it is a combustion heater it needs fresh air. The air in the cabin can get unpleasant if the heater is used without sufficient fresh air. Used...

    Make it shine.

Melamine scrubbing sponges are the same as using very fine sandpaper. Also, when used, they shed lots of microplastics.

    Make it shine.

As pointed out in the video, you should leave the toilet bowl cleaner sit on the stain for awhile (depending on the amount of staining). Also, sometimes very heavy staining will require multiple applications. Be sure to thoroughly rinse everything that is exposed to the toilet bowl cleaner.

    Make it shine.

Yellow patina is staining from tannic acid in the water. Toilet bowl cleaner will take it off easily. Toilet bowl cleaner will also take off any wax.

    Fuel tank swelling

This is a side effect of the California rules about venting gasoline fumes to the atmosphere from portable tanks. I have a 3 gal rectangular tank that approaches roundness when the vapors build up. FWIW, you can get caps and vents to retrofit your new tank to make it work like they used to...

    77’ Aluminum Yacht for $125k

Get the fuel delivered by tanker truck. It will be a bit cheaper. But even then, some large yachts need a quarter $mill+ to fill up.

I replaced the Ikea wood tiles with one-piece tiles. They are the Runnen product from Ikea. The wood tiles lasted several years. However, last year when I pulled them out for the winter, some of the plastic backing that holds the wood slats broke down. The new tiles are one piece and don't need...
