These boats should, hands-down, be powered by Yamaha. Much better motor.Our first C Dory 25 had the 130 Honda. Cruising LaKe Powell, or Alaska loaded for a month at a time with all food, and full tanks, plus one or two dogs and 2 adults, we were running in the 16 to 18 mph on a plane-- as fuel burned off, we could cruise closer to 20 mph. Top speeds were a little higher than the "cruising speed". The boat with a 130 will not go as fast or handle as well as a boat with a 150 or 200, However, you can cruise at a comfortable pace fully loaded.

There is no "better" outboard motor these days. They all have some minor issues, and Corrosion has been one in the Yahamas. I have run Mercs, Yahamas, Suzukis (number of there equal to all of the other brands) and Hondas in the last few years. Each needs regular maintance, flush with fresh water after every use (if possible) and updates done. I personally know of examples of each of these brands reaching over 5,000 hours, and a couple of Hondas at over 8,000 hours.These boats should, hands-down, be powered by Yamaha. Much better motor.

-Bottom paint in June 2025
-second owner, purchased the boat in March 2016 with 67 hours on the meter. The previous owner kept the boat on the Chesapeake Bay.
-2003 Loadrite trailer equipped with electric over hydraulic brakes and tires replaced just a couple of years ago. Towed from Delaware to Florida a few times.
Reason for selling: The boat is not getting the use it deserves. Our dog refuses to get on board, and since she goes everywhere with us, the boat has been sitting more than it should.
Asking price is $50,000 for the complete package — boat, engine, trailer, electronics, and all covers.
