    Need electrical advise...please!

Update: I had the best day on a boat that anyone could have. NOT!! I removed the seized macerator pump. Ugh!! The batteries I am asking about are "Optima" AGM batteries. YouTube videos seems to like them. Any brats use them and like or dislike them? greeneyegi: Thanks for reminding me to...

    Need electrical advise...please!

Another question for the experts: I have the Guest 2621A 3 banks 5,5,10 Amps onboard battery charger. Same age as the boat. I have one battery hooked up to the 10A circuit and the other battery hooked up to both of the 5A circuits giving each battery a 10A charge. For how long and how often...

    Need electrical advise...please!

Okay, I did a visual and a wiggle test on all of the wiring that I could get at easily. So far so good. I also put a meter on both batteries as they have sat for over 24 hours and they read 12.96 and 12.8 volts. That must be good. Next step is to load test them just to know and replace them...

    Need electrical advise...please!

Thanks for the replies. Most of it is beyond my scope of comprehension but I want to learn so please keep the knowledge coming. The batteries are on their 5th year now and I remove them annually and fill with distilled water if needed. They were only a bit low on water once years ago. Could the...

    Need electrical advise...please!

I may have caused myself a lot of electrical problems. I don't know and I need help! My anchor light was not working so I tried testing the circuit. I have a meter, which admittedly, I don't know how to use. I was trying to see if the meter would read 12 volts and when I (very briefly) touched...

    Boat ramp etiquette

The car is an older Oldsmobile Toronado. Front wheel drive and a big block V8 makes them perfect for retrieving float planes off a ramp. I don't know where that footage was shot but they use them at the float plane base here in Campbell River all the time. They actually have a few of those...

    Cockpit floor

We had a 1999 22 cruiser and it had the optional factory floorboards. These served to level the cockpit floor as the hull has a shallow "V" in it. As you are able to remove these floorboards, you can see that there is, at the most, 2 inches of space at the deepest part of the "V" tapering off...

CD25 cabin / cockpit bulkhead question.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will be pulling the cockpit hatch and have a good look in there when I haul out next and I'll be sure to check all of the water fittings as well. I have thought that a slope back cover would be good to have as well but never got around to getting one made...

CD25 cabin / cockpit bulkhead question.

Recently I have noticed a little bit of fresh water getting into the cabin on the floor at the aft end. I am pretty sure it is coming out from the open channel in the step box at the door. My question is this. Is there access for water to enter the cabin from the cockpit or is that bulkhead...

    Ace line hauler

They love some people more than others..... The switch on mine quit working too and I drove an hour and a half to their shop to have it fixed. I was charged $35 though but they did touch up some paint. I was happy they could do it while I waited. A buddy of mine sent his to them with a blown...

    CD25 Center wiper

Thanks Boris. I did read your post with photos about your replacement ordeal the other day and that prompted me to look into the center wiper setup. Very good step by step instructions. That is what makes this site so valuable. I'd be happy if the AFI 1000 was only $165 but up here (Canada) we...

    CD25 Center wiper

Thanks Harvey. I picked up one fan the other day and will probably get another if needed. Just realized I mistyped ATI instead of AFI for the wiper in the post before. I think C.Dory uses AFI 1000 but not sure and I want the right one so the sweep angle is correct and the shaft length is right...

    CD25 Center wiper

Thanks Steve. I knew I had seen someone had done this but didn't know where to look. That is exactly what I had in mind. Now if someone were to chime in with the correct model number of ATI wiper and shaft length I will have everything I need. By the way, Steve, I like your overhead rod...

    CD25 Center wiper

Thanks for the reply Rob. I have definitely considered installing the manual wiper too and yours looks great...and easy. Good to know that the window still opens. I have seen somewhere here an electric one so if anyone chimes in with information on that installation I will then decide what is...

    CD25 Center wiper

Hi Brats, I know I have seen it here that someone has installed a center window wiper on their CD25 but I can't find the post or photos of the installation. After another frustrating trip in light rain yesterday, I know I must install a wiper on the center windshield. Better visibility would...

A 25 with an Armstrong Bracket

Very interesting post Ron. I too am always trying to create more space in our boat. That would give another couple of feet if the splashwell were eliminated but......wouldn't you have to have a longer trailer to support that weight hanging out there? Sounds to me like the expenses would far out...

    Cap for anchor light housing

Lost mine too. Go to a garden center/hardware store and buy a plastic cap to screw onto a garden hose or hose fitting. One that closes off a hose fitting. Works perfectly. Cheers, Tom :beer
