A question about cruising at "Trawler Speed" MPGs

Being Canadian, and old enough to remember when we did not use the Metric System of Measurement, I can converse in all official units of measure……..Metric, Imperial and US. We in Canada, of course, buy our fuel in Liters. I have found that if I plan to burn one liter of fuel per nautical mile...

    Honda High Idle Lever

Charlie, Thanks for the diagram. Sure looks like that's the right one.........but ALL those parts........YIKES!! Tom

    Honda High Idle Lever

Sounds like a few of us have the same problem. Although the clothspin or the float method of keeping the lever up do get the job done it would be nice to have it work the way it was intended to. I will have a good look at it tomorrow to see if I think taking it apart will be easy. Any further...

    Honda High Idle Lever

Thanks Charlie But what am I in for when I take it apart? I am afraid that....BOING!!........springs go flying and I am unable to get it back together properly. I can always get things apart......getting them back together is sometimes another matter. Tom

    Honda High Idle Lever

There is a separate lever for high idle and when fully raised it activates the choke. When the lever is raised the main shifter and throttle control cannot be engaged.

    Honda High Idle Lever

My high idle lever for my Honda BF75 hp outboard does not want to stay up in the elevated position when I want a high idle. It falls down to the bottom position on its own leaving me having to put a clothspin on it to hold it up. My question to all of you is......Is there a screw or tensioning...

    wiper quest once again

Thanks Joe........I remember that you replied with those concerns when I first posed the question way back. Yes, there is plenty of room and interference with the shelf is not an issue. I agree, pantographic wiper arms would be ideal and since the geometry so is critical my strategy was to copy...

    wiper quest once again

Thanks for your input everyone. I have searched the library on the subject and as yet have not hit the nail on the head. Art: Your system is what I am intending to do....only on a 22. Different window sizes I'm sure. I was sure that someone who has this setup.....or a dealer who knows what works...

    wiper quest once again

I posted in the past that I wanted to add a couple of overhead electric windshield wipers to our 22 cruised and leave the manual ones in place for backup. I know there are some of you out there with overhead electric wipers and I need to know the make and model, sweep, arm and blade length. Not...

    Inflatable for CD22

We have a Zodiac 270. It is 8' 6'' or 8'8'' ....can't remember which....but it fits perfectly atop our little ol' 22 cruiser. One of the big benifits of having an inflatable atop of a small boat is storage space. We run with ours right side up which allows us to fill it with gear.....crab, prawn...

    Wallas Poof

Not sure what the Wallas manual says......but the C Dory owners manual that came with my boat has a page on opperating the Wallas stove......and it definately says to turn to maximum to start and turn to minimum to shut down.

Question for 2.5 hp Suzuki owners.

Thanks Jazzmanic What a dummy I am......I should have had all my questions lined up in the original post but I just thought of another. In the middle of the sight glass there is a red dot. Is that the level to which you fill the oil to......or is that the warning level if the oil is down to...

Question for 2.5 hp Suzuki owners.

Thanks for trying Steve......I didn't think of that. Another question that I forgot in the original post is.....Does it take regular 10W30 oil or the synthetic stuff? Thanks in advance, Tom

Question for 2.5 hp Suzuki owners.

I just bought a used 2.5 hp Suzuki outboard for our dinghy. It didn't come with an owners manual and I want to change the engine oil so I know how old it is. Problem is.....I can't tell which, if any, one off the several bolts at the base is the drain bolt. I kind of wonder if you are just meant...

    Looking for advice/suggestions

Hello again Castaway, I just read that you have not been introduced to a 22 footer in person. As mentioned before, we have a 22 cruiser and we would be happy to let you check it out to get a feeling if it is the size which suits your needs. We are in Campbell River and the boat is kept at...

    Looking for advice/suggestions

Welcome Castaway. I have lived in the area and boated here for over 35 years. For my 2 cents worth.....I have owned several boats, some bigger and some smaller than the 22 Cruiser that we currently own. We have had the C.Dory for five years now and I can say I have never felt safer when caught...

    Do transducers wear out?

Okay.....so I bought a new transducer and mounted the head on the existing bracket beside the old one. I ran the wire straight through the door to the helm so I could switch back and forth between the old and new transducers. Sure enough, the old one was working fine :? .......for a...
