How to deploy a sea anchor

First - Happy Thanksgiving to everybody who participates and lurks here. This is a great community! I split this question off from the open ocean suitability thread currently going. How would one deploy a sea anchor from a CD25? Would there be more than one way to deploy it, and if so, what...

    Bedding down for the night

Given the issues with reduced headroom, has anyone tried using the foam in the v-berth without using the factory cushions in place?

    New Diesel Outboard

Just saw this reference to a turbodiesel outboard on another site. Passing it along as a C-Brat FYI: http://www.megoutboard.com/index.html

    dealing with a dealer

It seems to me that the goal is getting the package you want for the best deal. The deal, to my mind, would include the distance to the dealer and every other factor. What dealers pay for the boats is really not the point - the point is what they'll sell them for. Good luck on your quest - new...

From E.Q. - Possible status change

When I was buying a car many years ago, the woman who owned the dealership shared this bit o'wisdom with me: "A good reputation is something money can't buy." I hope Les and other quality dealers will be enticed by C-Dory to remain with the brand - not be driven off.

    Freshwater Tank Smell

Yes. So far. I'm going to continue checking it regularly and will flush the system with Clorox as needed. Thanks again to everybody for the input.

    Freshwater Tank Smell

Brtent - The water heater is a Seaward S-700. The documentation I have does not make any reference to the anode. I checked the Seaward website and found nothing there.

    Anchor Shade by Taylor Made

I'm looking for a budget solution for canvas. My boat is kept in the water year round. Any C-Brats have experience with the Anchor Shade by Taylor Made. I am considering the Anchor Shade as a cruising solution for sun protection for my no longer youthful skin, and then getting just a cockpit...

    Freshwater Tank Smell

Brent -- I'll post the info on the water heater's make/model as soon as I have it. Thanks.

    Freshwater Tank Smell

I flushed the the tank twice (using a new, dedicated hose) with a low level of Clorox over the weekend. I let the water stand in the system for 1-hour each time, and then I refilled the tank with a mix of fresh water and 2 teaspoons of Clorox. Seems to have worked so far. The water now has a...

Would a hydrogen peroxide solution be suitable for flushing the tank?

    Freshwater Tank Smell

Good idea. I'll use a new hose to be sure.

    Freshwater Tank Smell

Thanks for all of this input. I used Clorox a few months ago and will redo the flush with bleach. I am definitely going to confirm whether or not the dock water has any odor to it. My understanding is that the dock water is municipal fresh water, but I will check it directly for smell, and the...

    Freshwater Tank Smell

Brent, The hot and cold both smell bad. How would I tell if the heater has an anode? And if so, what it's condition is?

    Freshwater Tank Smell

Thanks Bob - I'll try it. By the way, any idea what some 22 Mule Team Borax would do in the water tank?

    Freshwater Tank Smell

I've got the sulphur smell in the fresh water. I have completely flushed the hot water heater three or four times by turning on the water pressure and opening the heater drain. I've then run full tanks of water through. I've flushed the cold side as well, and the smell seemed to have gone away...

Handles or rails to ease going to foredeck

Bob, I'd guess that a high percentage of C-Dory owners are also of the "one hand for the ship--the other for yourself school" of being on boats. I know I am. I can't quite picture the setup you have described and how it would mount to a CD-25. Would you provide some more detail. Thanks.
