Georgs- Those numbers look pretty reasonable. You need to start somewhere to demonstrate the costs right? If you add 15% (for margin of error) which is generally my method of madness, I arrive at $6612.50 tops. If you exceed that and you're not half way to FL, you need to call for a trailer...

    Cool pics from space

Whoah yeah - those are awesome Steve - thanks for sharing. I love this stuff. And, that shot of Nevada - it reminds me of a PC motherboard! El/Bill the pre-Paleozoic instructor - funny stuff (ROFL). I do, in fact, remember the Dragon Lady;and, even the launch of the Echo satellite series. My...

And Pete, not everyone is going to agree w/ me on swivels; and, to each their own. A swivel might add another weak link into the mix (and, it can if you buy the cheap-o crap-o stuff). However, I've done a fair amount of anchoring - both on wrecks (in particular) as well as in some of the nasty...

Stainless Steel Hardware Sale - Ends Today

I've never had an occasion or reason to use Loctite on these swivels. I won't dress out an anchor rode assembly w/o these swivels they are that good and make life so much better, for me, the rode, the ropes, the anchors, the hole nine yards.

BTW, if you want a good screw (anchor) - one that won't fall apart in a year, this is a very good price on a SS screw anchor. I enjoy beaching the boat (but hate finding it a couple hundred yards offshore when I return). :crook Pretty good price. I just dropped $300 on SS...

Hey Pete, I use nothing but swivels. They are fantastic. Here is the type I use. The one w/ the hex drivers. IMO, they're the best and this price is exceptional. I've paid as high as $65-$90 for SS swivel anchor connectors. http://www.marinepartdepot.com/new316ststbi2.html

    C-Brats.com Rocks!

Mike, Congrats. Welcome to the pub. :beer Just reviewed your pics - it's a demonstration model I understand, right? They don't look bad. Generally no one is going to take care of a demo boat the way a true owner would (in general terms). None-the-less, the items you commented on don't look bad...

From: Norm Geltz [mailto:ngeltz@ec.rr.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 14, 2009 4:16 PM To: 'frankwalter@c-dory.com'; 'olmarina' Subject: C-Dory 25' Cruiser I had a couple of items requiring attention besides the RuleMate 1100 Bilge Pump and received excellent attention and this is a follow-up...

    TomCat 255 Weight Question

I'd probably say you're "within" the numbers. Notice the numbers you're quoting are from a C-Dory 25' Cruiser (which are the numbers provided to you by Boris which you're employing in your logic). I think you're buying a Tomcat 255 - which is not a monohull and therefore (empirically) those...

    TomCat 255 Weight Question

With regard to: Taken from the 25' Owner's Manual (the exact same statement contained in the 255 Owner's Manual): Note: Many people ask why the C-Dory 25’ does not have a Coast Guard capacity label like the 16’ C-Dory - • The Coast Guard requires that all boats under the length of 20’, except...

    TomCat 255 Weight Question

I just looked at the 25' Cruiser Owner's Manual; and, I would have to say I am not in full agreement with the manufacturer based upon the statements made in the manual. That is merely my opinion. If you add the hull weight (less motor) 3602 lbs, fuel (100 gals @ 6 lbs/gal = 642 lbs), water (24...

    TomCat 255 Weight Question

So, think of it this way. The weight is with regards to the "physical entiry" not the actual "net tonnage" carrying capacity of the vessel. Examples: These numbers are NOT exact, but a very good approximation. My Ford F-250 weighs ~6600 lbs but it can carry substantially more than the...

    Atlantic ICW

I've cruised some of the upper Long Island Sound ICW, which IMO was extremely broad (wide and very navigable) - very picturesque. I've done the Dismal Swamp ICW, extremely narrow, very nice topology/relief - intriguing. I lived in FL on the Gulf Coast, cruised across the state via the DITCH, and...
