    Porta potty for a 22

I've got the Thetford 365, and the removable V-berth cushion rests on top of it but fits fine. It's got a lot of holding capacity (comparatively).

    16 vs 19 vs 22

The gunwales in my 22 are just under 32" high measured from the cockpit deck.

Are all years of 22 CDs capable of running twin outboards?

On my single engine 22, I have a swim step to port and sufficient room for a kicker to starboard. (It's on my list, and that list be long.)

    Maiden voyage

I made the Sitka to Tenakee trip a couple of times when I lived there. Wish I'd had my C-Dory then... Congratulations on the new boat!

Replacing the Sink's Hand Pump Water Faucet

My 22 uses an electric pump that also powers a freshwater washdown hose on the transom, which I find useful. But it's one more battery drain, one more thing to troubleshoot, and as others have mentioned it uses more water than you need if you are a long way between fill spots.

    C-Dory 22 on Cape Cod

Hi Tom, I'm not on the Cape but I'm in Rhode Island if you want to make a day trip down near Narragansett. I've got a 2005 22 Cruiser and I've hosted a handful of people on the East Coast who want to see one in person. I'd be happy to show her off to you.

    Radar through-cabin wiring question

Well you've convinced me I should ditch my old 2005-era Raymarine radar for something newer. But money's tight and I'd rather spend it on fuel, so I installed the ancient tech today. Ended up mounting the radome on wedges so it slants forward to allow for planing lean. I tucked the cable under...

    Radar through-cabin wiring question

Thanks—that's my preference, I think, to run it over the lip and through the side rather than putting another big hole in the roof, since it's a THICK cable and I need a hole big enough to squeeze the eight pin connector through. I'll have to run some kind of cable guides, and it's still not...

    Radar through-cabin wiring question

When I bought my CD22 it came with an old Raymarine radome and C80 display. The old owner had removed it—the power cord for the C80 remained, and the trunnion for the display, but he'd taken the radome off and left the mounting bolts in the cabin roof. (It's not on an arch, just on wedges to...

    SE Alaska group cruise 2022

This thread makes me miss living and boating in Sitka. Thanks for the vicarious voyage!

Mystery black gunk in cockpit: Filthy bilge?

Thank you both. Sounds like I have nothing to be worried about but I have some more detailed cleaning in my future.

Mystery black gunk in cockpit: Filthy bilge?

When I bought my 22, it had been neglected by a previous owner with unfortunate health problems who let it sit on a trailer in his marshy backyard. The boat was filthy, inside and out. In addition to deep, deep cleaning, I've done a ton of repairs, refits, and renos. The boat runs great and I...

    16 vs 19 vs 22

I'm relatively new to C--Dory ownership, but my primary use of my CD22 is singlehanding it. Wind can make it a little hairy but you figure out the tricks. My secondary use is day cruising with my wife and big dog, and my wife—who knows nothing about boats, despite us having owned several—can...

    Good place for fire extinguisher?

Mine is next to the pilothouse door, starboard side, eye-level, which is why I'm always looking at it as I bang my head into the low door frame.

    SOLD - 2000 C-dory 22 cruiser $30K

Sebastien's Instagram updates on the Loop are very much worth watching, it looks like they're having a heck of a trip.

    charter plotter suggestion

I went through a similar process as mutski and ended up with a Garmin for similar reasons, though a different model. Keep expandibility in mind. If you are not buying radar now but might down the road, not all Garmin chartplotters are also MFDs and some will not let you add radar later without...

How much boating experience before you bought your C-Dory?

My advice? Buy one. It can feel like a different world on the water—a better one. You will spend a lot of money and time keeping your boat skookum but there's nothing like the experiences it will allow you to have. Also: Make friends with someone who knows boats—they're everywhere if you live...

    I finally have my C-Dory!

As a former Homer resident and a newish owner of a 22 Cruiser, from where I'm sitting you're making all good choices. Congratulations. That's a great boat for the Bay.

    Angola Canvas Kudos

I ordered a cover from them last fall. Their email communications were sporadic and slow, with a lot of misfires and dropped balls. But every time I picked up the phone and called them, they answered quickly and were great to talk to. Like a lot of companies, they were severely understaffed...

    New C-brat

Congratulations! I bought mine last summer after a string of wooden boats, and spent all fall and winter getting her back into fighting shape. Now she's in her slip and I'm thrilled with her. As a new guy myself I can tell you that the experience on this site and the generosity of knowledge of...
