MapCreate Question - Display of water depths?

Thanks, Bob. So, this leaves me still wanting to do route planning using the nauticpath data (which I own) from home on a computer. I'll play with the MapCreate software some more, but it may well turn out not to be useful for me. I guess I can sell it so long as the SD card, reader, DVD...

MapCreate Question - Display of water depths?

OK, this has to be easy. I just got MapCreate 7.0 and am trying to display water depths. Nothing...just blue water. In the Map Category Options, I have Depth checked and all its suboptions. I also have all options under water checked. This can't be that hard...but it's late and I'm probably...

Cutter was reportedly the largest C-Dory dealer in the country. Dunno if that's true or not. Mike

My oberservations after my first ride on a C-25 and Tomcat

I've found that not only keeping the bow down is important, but keeping the boat level when going through chop helps a great deal. Just a couple of degrees off can make a difference because the bow doesn't cut as nicely as it can when level. The Level-O-Meter ir what it is called is invaluable...

From E.Q. - Possible status change

I have some friends that are somewhat interested in a CD-25 style boat, but until what happened with Bob's boat has been understood, and the scope of the problem documented, I'm not going to suggest to anyone that they buy a CD-25, used or not. Unless the owner doesn't mind you trying to rip...

Cabin fan shuts off when throttling up ?

If you ran power to this bus from the battery, then you also need to add a dedicated neutral back to the battery. You can't just use some other neutral. Mike

    C-dory 22/Trophy 2359 Hardtop/Bayliner Discovery 192

There's hardly any comparison in terms of maintenance and ease of performing it between any sort of I/O setup vs. outboard. Anyhow, I like the fact that I can't even get a foot into the "bildge" on the CD-22, let alone have to crawl down into it work on something. Mike

Has anyone with an older CD done it?

If we decide to add refridgeration, I will need to add batteries. I'm wondering if putting in some appropriate non-gassing batteries up front would work out. I could basically cut a hole to fit... Mike

Companies ignore the customer all the time. We get it from vendors at work constantly. We end up dropping them, too, sooner or later. Mike

From E.Q. - Possible status change

One thing C-Dory also needs to remember: Few people would buy anything like a boat without doing a quick internet search. And that search is going to turn up this site and this thread and the NYC CD-25, and everything else, good and bad. So, we as writers need to remember this, and C-Dory...

    wallas fuel

Diesel. Doesn't smell, costs $3/gallon, and you can buy it on the water! That's not something that is brought up often, but if I was cruising and started to run low, I don't know that I would mix Klean Heat and diesel. So, that would leave me trying to figure out how to run the tank dry, etc...

    VHF Antenna Relocation

Yeah, turns out there are some easy ways to calculate this. But, in any case, assuming C-Dory to C-Dory, there is a 10% increase by mounting on the roof. And as you noted, tripping over the antenna on a narrow sidedeck isn't great. Probably should get some tennis balls or similar like Joe...

    GPS Fish Finder Combo Suggestions

It's out of stock. The offering at Abe's is a standard offering for those that already own the GPS and transducer. The price is OK. I might buy one if I wanted to upgrade my LMS 337C-DF. Everyone says Abe's reseller rating is poor, so you probably want to avoid them since there are so many...

    VHF Antenna Relocation

There are two downsides to a roof mounting: 1) You almost certainly have to remember to lower the antennas when trailering. 2) When lowered, the antenna extends into the cockpit, which is moderately annoying if you need to have them down for some reason. Also, I have blocks...

    VHF Antenna Relocation

We have two whips mounted pretty far forward on the cabin roof. We can put an Achilles LT-4 upside down, bow to bow on the roof and it fits inbetween the antenna mounts. Although it is not easy, I mounted them so I could lower the antennas from inside the cabin. My thinking is that if I were...

    C-dory help in purchasing.

Don't neglect backing around on a piling when you need to. A gentle hand on the throttle will keep you from dragging the rub rail on the piling, and you can pull the stern right around. I have no choice but to pull in cross ways to a fast current and need to use the piling most of the time...

    Anchor Shade by Taylor Made

I saw some people use them on CD-25s at the Chesapeake gathering. They liked them. We tried one on a CD-22 and I didn't like it so much. I think the problem is the lack of beam, so I had trouble getting the pole stable. It felt like it would fall over in a slight wind. Mike

    C-dory help in purchasing.

No idea. This information was sent to me by a fellow C-Brat. I don't remember many, if any, CD-22s with twins at the Ches. Bay gathering. Perhaps they don't like the extra weight? Mike
