    Ranger Tug 27?

The Ranger Tug dealer I talked to last weekend at the Maine Boatbuilders Show said there's a new 27' model due out in April Anyone know anything more about it?

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Our plan for today is to take the plastic tarp off C for Two. Way early by historical Maine standards, but spring seems to have arrived early. Supposed to get over 60 degrees today...hard to believe it's March.

    C-Dory Sightings

Driving along the main road in Burnt Ground on Long Island in the Bahamas last week, and spotted this C-Dory. The name was faded, but it looked like Dor's Voyager.

    Y Landing

We purchased C for Two new from Y-Landing in 2007. I don't think John is with them anymore, but we've found David to be responsive.

    A simple opinion

It's nice to be asked! I'm pleased not to have the logo on the upholstery. However, I would have liked, as so many others have said, more comfortable seats. And especially, I would love a helm seat that folds completely forward to create extra counter space for the galley.

    NEED DOOR KEY

Just got 3 blank keys from Diamond Sea Glaze, who were great to deal with, but we had one key already. Not sure if they could have helped if we'd lost both of our keys. Good luck.

picking a new dog in the future

You have our sympathy. She was a beautiful dog, and looks like she was a great companion too.

    Rest in Peace

What a hard loss. I'm very sorry. We expect to lose our old dogs ... we dread it, and grieve them when they're gone ... but to lose a puppy is shocking. We lost our beloved 12-year-old Nestor to cancer last November, but will give Rose a hug in memory of little Angus.

    Interesting Tug

Rockwood ME is a town on the shore of Moosehead Lake, so the tug might have started out as a lake boat. Very comfortable looking, isn't it?

    France? England? European Canalboat Cruising?

We've done four canal boat trips in England, and used Alvechurch each time. Check out www.alvechurch.com for info. We've never been disappointed in the boats or the canals, though our favorite is the route from Wrenbury Mill to Llangollen in Wales. We did that one twice. The water in the...

Smallest but most effective tow vehicle

Our Dodge Grand Caravan has towed C for Two just fine ... up and down ramps, up and down hills, through stops and starts. We weren't sure it could do it, but it really stepped up to the plate.

    Best Dog Names

We took in a foster dog that the shelter had named Bones. I renamed her Rose on the way home, thinking it sounded similar and could be changed back to Bones when she returned to the shelter. Six years later, Rose is still here. Once knew a family, last name Silver, whose dog was named Sterling.

    Trailering a 22ft cruiser

We tow ours with a Dodge Grand Caravan minivan with no problems at all. Longest trip was 3+ hours up to the Mount Desert area last summer, and back.

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

We took a beautiful hour-long ride today, the long way around Casco Bay's islands and then up the Royal River to the ramp where we hauled C for Two for the winter. On the way we used the Wallas for heat for the first time, and it was very comfortable in the cabin. Made some coffee too, and...

    How important is four-wheel-drive?

We never assumed it would work, but in fact our Dodge Grand Caravan with rear-wheel drive has done fine towing C for Two. We use the same public ramp most of the time, timing put-ins and take-outs for the best tide, but we did do one trip this summer where we towed her 3 hours north, put in...

    Fatal Boat Crash

Here's a link to the Maine case -- hope I've inserted this right. There's a lot of controversy about the case, and it might be retried. http://www.rutlandherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080927/NEWS03/809270327/0/HELP

Cruise to the Stellwagon Bank today

Great photos. What an adventure. We once took a commercial whale watch boat out of Gloucester to the same area and saw whales up close. One of them breached right beside our boat. It was an amazing experience to realize we were visitors in someone else's neighborhood. Years ago off...

    7 C-Dory’s Cruise Maine

Sounds like a great time. Wish I'd known you all were coming ... at one point you were just a few hundred yards from our mooring.
