Jim covered it and well. One more thing to consider; check on what slips cost in our area and know that if the Tolly does not come with one that you can take over, you’ll be on a waiting list or lists. Last time I checked in mid-summer most were at least a year, some more.

The Maguiars will work. Do a small area at a time and not in the sun. There are “how to” videos on YouTube etc. I used a big, heavy buffer but a smaller DA random orbital type might work too and the chance of burning will be lessened. Wipe off residue with micro-fiber towels and then polish...

There is no easy, simple way to re-condition gelcoat. Even with a buffer it’s work and once buffed, has to be polished/waxed to protect it from the elements. I’ve used Meguiar’s Marine/RV Heavy Duty Oxidation Remover and it works well, but you have to do it properly or you’ll burn the gelcoat.

I have zero desire to do the “Great Loop”. Big cities, dirty water, rivers...yuck. The entire mid-west portion of the route, to me, has nothing that attracts me. Give me a white sand beach or a quiet cove any day. I’ll do the ICW, the Gulf etc, but the Mighty Mississippi is not my cup of tea.

What broke on the seat? They are pretty “stout”. We did break one of the cheap plastic hinges, but I managed to find white exact replacements on eBay. Those nudibranch pics are cool. 8)

Fortunately the only thing I’ve had to pay a pro to do was a re-seal of the lower unit after 10 yrs of use and a repair of the skeg after hitting a submerged rock. I wasn’t at the helm when that occurred. For the re-seal, I drained the lower leg oil as I do every spring and discovered water...

I had a custom rail made for my splashwell. I mount our grill there, along with other items. We rarely use the three rear curtains of our camper back.

Has stayed on. No lifting edges. I forget what size I ordered. Measure it and go from there. It can be cut down with a sharp razor knife. I went from just below the bow eye to where the smooth bow ends under the boat, just prior to the “keel”.
