    My next boat

Well Evviva left Squalicum harbor this morning. I'd hate to meet that thing trying to make the 90 degree turn out of the harbor. At least there is another 170 feet of dock space available. I wonder what they charged for two nights mooreage?

    Ordering New Stainless Prop

Actually I'm the opposite. We run aluminum props with SS as backups. The boat came from Florida with the SS props but there are so many logs and rocks where we boat that we wanted to protect the lower unit if we hit something so we switched out to aluminum.

    My next boat

Check this out: http://www.charterworld.com/index.html? ... vviva-2421 This boat is nowt docked in squalicum harbor. We were coming back after having anchored for the afternoon in Chuckanut Bay when we saw this thing approaching the channel for Squalicum. The boat had to issue a Securite to...

Yes, congrats. This is a great site with lots of very useful information. C-nile, the owner of hull #1 has been an active contributor.

    Total costs of ownership (cd22)

The answer will depend on many factors such as whether you have a suitable tow vehicle, the condition of the boat when you buy it, what kind of things you want on the boat, and you tolerance for things that may not be perfect. Last year I ran the figures and they were not pretty. Things like...

Hypervent adhesive -- what kind of adhesive has people used?

We put hypervent in our tomcat last year. It has worked great! No more nasty condensation under the cushions. We did not tape the sections together. They have remained in place with no slipping. Your experience may be different, though.

    05/18 - 05/20 - 2012 Friday Harbor CBGT

I wouldn't worry about parking at Bellingham. Ther is an overflow lot, and when things get really tight there is an over overflow lot. I wish I could attend but I have to work.

    C-Dory Sightings

I went down to Hilton Harbor after work to do a few things on the boat and noticed a new boat was there. It's a 22 c-dory named Sans Souci. I believe it's a 2009 and it has twin 50s. Nice looking boat. I don't know who owns the boat (I think the boat was recently bought). Hopefully the new...

    dry stack storage?

At Hilton Harbor where we store our boat on the hard during the winter there is no covered storage, but we do have an electrical hookup so that we can run a small heater for the cabin and the battery charger to keep the batteries topped up. It's a good situation and allows me to putter around...

    dry stack storage?

We have done both -- dry and in a slip. Being on the hard is definitely easier on the boat and much easier for working on the boat. That said, during the summer we prefer a slip. First, you can hang out on the boat, BBQ, have friends over, and so on. Second, you can come and go as you please...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

I attached keel guard to both keels of the c-dory. The job went well and it looks like it will help when I engage in my annual assault on docks.

    It's finally happening

Congrats! The retirement thing is really nice. I still work part time but I take three month chunks of time not working. Today in Bellingham it is sunny and 62 degrees. More of the same is forecast for tomorrow and we'll be taking the tomcat out.

    World cats and sea sports

Yes, it was Andy Brown. Hilton Harbor will be selling Livingstons and Worldcats. Evidently, the boats are selling well and ther is a backlog of orders. Hopefully that's an indicator that the boating business in general is on the upswing. Roger I saw a 32 SS for sale recently and at the price...

    World cats and sea sports

I was down at Hilton Harbor this afternoon and had the chance to meet the president of world cat boats. Hilton Harbor is going to be a dealer for these boats. They should have a 32' pretty soon. It will be interesting to see how they compare to the tomcat. I've never seen one in person. In our...

I am new to the group and looking for a 16 cruiser

We had a 16 and it was a great little boat. Wonderful for crabbing and fishing when the conditions were right. However we never thought about spending nights on board (and I am a small guy). The v-berth is tight and without a bulkhead in the PNW the evenings are so cool to make sleeping...

    Coast Guard's new ships

Not as sexy as the big ships but Bellingham just received a new 45' rescue boat-medium. It's a nice looking vessel and uses jets. It sounds like it is gurgling when it passes by at hull speed and the water sort of boils. When they put the petal to the metal it really takes off.
