    Oil leaking from propeller

Thank you Steve for the link and lending your expertise! With the parts being less than $20, it seems like I should explore this a bit more. A couple questions for you if I may: 1. There is no way to change those seals without removing the powerhead, correct? Anything else I should be...

    Oil leaking from propeller

Hi All, Long delay but life got busy there for a moment. Took the lower unit off today and sure enough there is a oil leak coming from that tube in the photo (assuming that is the exhaust)? I took the midsection "skirt" off to see if there was any external oil leak, but couldnt find any. So im...

    Oil leaking from propeller

Went to do the winterization of the 2005 Honda bf50’s today (four strokes). Before starting, I noticed an oil stain below the starboard motor. It smells like motor oil, not like gear oil. After using this motor last, I noticed the oil was very low. So I’m assuming there is a leak. Any...

Water Under Aft Cockpit in 07 Venture

Interesting yours is purple/red. I looked back through most of the photos on this thread and couldn’t find any pictures like mine. It feels very tough whatever it is. As for the sealing, I meant that I was sealing up the exposed balsa from the inspection port cuts. The inspection ports are for...

I bought this boat used, it already had two inspection ports when i bought it. 1 is right at the back of the cabin, as you walked through the door. The second is in the v-berth. I am in the process of removing the inspection ports and sealing them with epoxy. Can anyone can tell me what this...

Outboard won’t start I only get a single click

There is probably 50-100 hours at most on those plugs. I only troll with one motor at a time. And when you say “run it up” you mean increase the throttle (to try and burn off the carbon)? Or do you mean run the motor trimmed up?

Outboard won’t start I only get a single click

I dont think the flywheel got turned around, not sure how I could tell for sure? Plugs are all the same, replaced last summer. I synched the carbs last summer too, so maybe I adjusted the mixture a bit too. Ill have to double check that. I ordered a new fly wheel, while that is in route could I...

Outboard won’t start I only get a single click

Wow, yours took a beating. Did you end up ordering new flywheel or did it continue running like that with one less magnet?

Outboard won’t start I only get a single click

Thank you all! It would appear C-Wolfe hit the nail on the head! One of the magnets came loose on the flywheel, and got lodged up there. I reinstalled the flywheel minus the broken magnet (for testing purposes only) and was able to hand rotate the engine, phew! While I have you here- I have also...
