    Daydream's Great Loop Blog!

Hi Pat, Enjoying following along on the Web as you cruise. If I were you, I'd put the worries of Non-E fuel on the back burner. The only time you might worry about it is when you're home and storing the boat. The Ethanol fuel works just fine if you're using it up every few days or weeks. Enjoy...

    Desolation Sound here we come!

I think that sometime before your trip, the Sequim fleet should get together with some charts and do some trip planning. I think I have some charts of the area that I'll never use again. I bet Harvey, Sleepy C, would be up for it. Maybe over lunch!

    Bridge Clearance Tomcat 255

I never had any problem with Bridges or Overpasses. I can verify that 8' radio antennas will be shortened by 3' if left up and you encounter an underpass  The TomCat does sit high on the trailer due to the hulls resting above the fenders.

    Battery on trailer

Harvey, I think that is what George does on Kerri On. Charge the boat batteries that is. #2 is possible but why? Once the boat is off the trailer, there goes your emergency braking.

We used to tow our dingy behind our sailboat.

Barry had a simple and effevtive method for storing the 2hp Honda on his 22. See the C-Cakes album page 4 for more photos.

Nancy wants to know if anyone every painted their interior.

    08/12 - 08/14 - Powell River BC, Canadian CBGT

We ran into that a few years back in the same location and conditions. Janet was checking the chart on the E-80 and noticed a small harbor. It was a condo development with a small marina behind a breakwater. We pulled in and tied up for a few hours at a guest dock. Never found anyone to pay or...

Opinions on outfitting a 23" C-dory for the NorthWest

After 15 years of cruising in the PNW, I would consider Radar and AIS essential. Auto Pilot would up toward the top of my list if I were outfitting a new boat.

    Inverter question

Hi Mike, For the Toaster Oven, I'd suggest a Honda 2000 Generator! The toaster oven fried my 2000w Outback inverter. And that was with the engines running and a 270 amp hour battery bank! Never tried that again...

Fixing a drilled hole with epoxy from a Transducer install

I think I would use a large syringe to pump some thickened epoxy all the way through that hole. Depending on the diameter of the hole, that may be all that's needed.

Fixing a drilled hole with epoxy from a Transducer install

As you can see by the photo, the core is closed cell foam, not the dreaded balsa core. It should be fine after you seal the hole. Lots of choices for sealing but make it permanent and waterproof!

    Honda 150 Trim Gauge

I had to replace that part on the Port engine. It's not too hard. Small hands are helpful.
