Thank you for input, always nice to hear from the experienced users while I do my research. I mostly use the boat for salt water fishing and it is nice to have good bottom reading capabilities with the chart overlays for navigation.

I installed a similar bracket on an eighteen foot boat I have and used a 15 horse with it. I towed many miles with out ever being worried about the bracket and failure due to weight issues. Dan

Karl, I will say this about a c-dory it will take more water conditions then you will be happy with. I use mine in open ocean water as far as 15 miles out and have never felt unsafe. I like running out and back for several days then having to get fuel, while the guys in their go fast boats...
