The problem has been resolved for the time being. I hooked the gps unit straight out of the back of the monitor and was able to lock on to the satellites. Sounds like the starter is hanging up, pull the cover and see if when you turn the key that the gears on the starter move out to engage the flywheel. It should loosen up if you do it manually a couple of times.
