    The first miner is out

Amen to that! From the moment they found all the miners alive (ALL of them!!!), this is been an impressive performance. --- mike

    Laptop Table or Mount

The arm is all aluminum, I think (I will confirm). Still, you make a good point about the shock from wave-bounce. I would like it better if is had some sort of shock absorbers built in. And yes, I am also concerned about the space issue. If I can't find any other solution, I might have to...

    Laptop Table or Mount

I haven't yet decided that a Ram Mount is the answer, but it turns out to be so, probably this arm with this tray, or maybe this tray. I have a TomCat, so I would in theory mount this either on the cabin wall next to the Admirals seat, or maybe on that narrow fiberglass section, port of the...

    Leaky Fishboxes. Grrrr!

Oh yeah. Now that you mention it, I remember seeing those plugs. :) --- mike

    Laptop Table or Mount

I don't know...I've looked at the parts and it should be able to mount to the cabin wall. Still, I don't know that it is the best solution. In the end, I may just go with Ram mount, but they are a bit ugly. Maybe I would like them better if they were in white. :) --- mike

Adrift in a sea of additives.....

Thanks all for the replies. Not sure which I should be using based on our small sampling, but it sounds like Seafoam or Blue Stabil+Startron. And, avoid E10 like the plague, but if you have to use it, avoid premium and put some red Iso-Heet in it. But, once E10 has become phase separated, it...

    Leaky Fishboxes. Grrrr!

Brian, where else did you have water? Next time I am at the boat, I'll have to check to see if I have water in the Armstrong bracket. Out of curiosity, how did you drain the water from in there? --- mike

    Leaky Fishboxes. Grrrr!

Oh yeah, I can see why that would be a problem. I am glad they moved those on later TomCats. --- mike

    Say a prayer

Dr. Bob, it is truly is great to see you back posting messages!. And we are thankful your surgery went so well. You had lots of people praying for you, Dr. Bob. And it looks like our prayers were answered. God is good! :) --- mike

    Leaky Fishboxes. Grrrr!

Brian, something tells me you and I are alike on how we approach mods. Invest the time and effort to make them the best they can be. :) I have a couple questions on your fix, if you don't mind: Where did you put those vents into the bilge? In the floor of the fish box? Or, in the side...

Roger, is that picture before or after they were raised? That's where mine are now. --- mike

Adrift in a sea of additives.....

Sta-Bil Blue... PRI-G... Heet... B12 Chemtool... SeaFoam... BG 44K... Huh? So I was reading through this interesting thread which is about Fuel Winterization, and I was taken with all the various additives that other Brats put this their fuel tanks. And from there, I searched and found...

    Leaky Fishboxes. Grrrr!

Marc, I am totally willing to concede that I am too cranked up on coffee today. Time to switch to single malt, maybe. :) Captain Matt, do you know of anyone who has been successful in making them waterproof? I'd love to know how it was done. I am not crazy about putting a hole in the boxes...

    Leaky Fishboxes. Grrrr!

Charlie's thread, which is essentially about gaining more access into the TomCat's bilge, got me back on to my one pet peeve with the TomCat. As some of you may have noticed, I never miss an opportunity to grumble about those damn leaky fish boxes. In the past I have threatened to remove...

Access Hatches rear cockpit bulkhead TC255

Ah, I see. Mine are the same a Roger's. When I get to the beat next weekend, I'll look and see if I can find a model number on them. --- mike

Access Hatches rear cockpit bulkhead TC255

Charlie, can you post a picture? My boat is not here, but I'll be with it next Friday and will get you pictures and measurements. My lazarettes have stupid metal "floors" in them, each with a round access hatch. I am pulling those out. --- mike

    Bus Bars

You mean at the helm, yes? Yes, one for each. For the aft bussbar, near the batteries, I don't have a breaker. But I have one on the feed going forward to the helm. As far as which breaker, I like Blue Sea a bunch and have been buying a lot of their stuff lately. Check this breaker out...

My Stupid BlackBerry and Advice Sought on Android Phones!

Pat, you might try calling Verizon and telling them you are going to move to ATT because you want a iPhone and see if they will work with you to get a Droid. But as you saw in my previous post, you don't actually want to switch to stinky, smelly ATT. :thdown --- mike

My Stupid BlackBerry and Advice Sought on Android Phones!

No offense, Peter (and Caryn), but I had an iPhone, and while I liked it a lot, the ATT network is a pile of poo! I recently picked up a Droid X and I love it - and I really like Verizon's coverage -- which so far has been everywhere. --- mike
