If you go up to the straits, you might consider the Les Cheneaux Islands, northeast of the bridge. Quite nice. Also, the two marinas in Mackinaw City. They were almost empty when we were there, which is common we were told.

Please let us know how it turns out. An addendum to my first response. I leave my engine tilt fixed and use the trim tabs for adjustment because: 1) it provides the best fuel mileage and speed (at any rpm); and 2) it gives me more control for fine tuning.

Foggy; you haven't told them about your home waters. Grand Traverse Bay. Great cruising area with nice marinas and towns and sheltered anchorages. Another favorite.

Way too much bow down whether by engine tilt or trim tab position. For what it's worth I do all my trimming with the tabs. The engine stays parallel to the water line. I also have cable steering and see no reason to change.

+2 My lumbar also sucks (herniated discs). This works good for me.

On my 2005 CD22, the fuel and water caps are the same (except for the external fuel/water markings) and use the same o-ring.

Hi all. For someone wanting to cruise the river for several weeks, where are some places to reprovision and dispose of garbage? We don’t have a dinghy, so we need to tie up, wade or swim to go ashore. I’m looking for places from Sanford all the way downstream to Jacksonville potentially.

More details please. I have one, so I'm interested in what issues you've had. BTW, if I had to repower today, I'd buy another suzuki. Let's see if you can change my mind.
