2026 Hontoon Island Gathering. March 3,4,5. DeLand Florida on St. John’s river.

Please be assured I am in no way meaning to slight all of you Hontoon folks by the front page display for your cruise announcement. When I highlighted the Friday Harbor event it moved yours down and changed the arrangement some. They should both be displayed the same and the Hontoon listing...

    Members list questions:

If you click on your name in the top banner, then Account details, you can add your location to your profile. That will get it to show up in the info to the left of your posts and in the avatar drop down. If the member does not include that info (entirely voluntary) it will not show up.

    Members list questions:

It looks like there may be a fairly simple way to add the entire roster but how to get the list to display properly is another matter. I've been working on it today but without much luck so far. I can get the an All Members link to show up but it is just a list without pagination and seems to...

Does anyone use a kicker motor on the starboard side?

Not yet, @colbysmith. I’m too old and @Da Nag is too busy but he ain’t getting any younger so he’d best be getting after it. I’m afraid we might find it won’t ever get as good as you want but I’ll leave it to Will to break the news.

How do I post a C-Dory gathering on the home page for Hontoon Island?

How's that!?! It was easy to do even without the wayward nerd but either Will or I will have to mark the threads as featured. We need to figure out how to make them more compact when there are several cruises pending but I ain't scared.

How do I post a C-Dory gathering on the home page for Hontoon Island?

We haven't found an add on to do just that yet but Da Nag will be looking into it when he gets time. The signup list is another feature I am hoping he can find a tool for, also. For now the best we can do is highlight the gathering discussion thread where the welcome note is top center of the...

    Props

WOT = Wide Open Throttle. Engine specs will always list a maximum RPM range and your prop should be sized to keep the engine within that range when wide open.

    New C-Dory Site

To be honest with you @KevinDU, I liked a lot about the previous site format, too. It is probably nostalgia mostly, but the old familiar place was comfortable to use after so many years. Keep in mind I like the new place much better for a lot of reasons, but I understand how change can be...

    How to edit an ad.

Ads cannot be edited but additional info can be added to the ad thread as replies. Including pictures is pretty easy to do and can also be done through replies. Click on the picture icon (circled in image below) at the top of the text box and select the photo you want from your computer of...

    LoadRite Trailer hardware

I agree on the Loctite. The blue stuff is for removable fasteners and the red stuff is for things you have to cuss at and heat up to get loose. However, Loctite has recently came out with a grade that is between those two. It is orange colored and is three times as strong as the blue but can...

    How does a kicker steer?

There are a few ways steering the kicker can be accomplished with varying degrees of efficiency. The smaller motor can be physically connected to the main with a steering tie rod and steered from the helm. It can be, of course, steered with the tiller handle on the kicker motor. It can be...

    16 or 22

The biggest consideration is how much of the family will be on board. The 22 is infinitely better suited for more than two people. If on these trips to the coastal waters you plan to overnight on the boat, with or without family, then the 22 is the better choice. If you are overnighting with...

A question for DaNag or Tyboo
