Thanks to John and Eileen Highsmith of Cat-O-Mine for making me aware of PFIFERTEX a vinyl woven material for an enclosure that is so much more practical for those of us who live on the Gulf Coast... it breathes and repels most of the water while keeping bugs out.

the back is actually flush with the edge of the cockpit - there will eventually a seat and possibly back cushion on the cooler

the whole thing goes behind the cooler tucked away but at the ready? makes a handy spot for the boat hook.

.the anchor drops in and holds securely... it pops right out when needed in a hurry...

fender washers on the backside hold mounting bolt heads in the motor well

the obvious place to mount it was the engine well

used a small angle router blade as opposed to a half round... looks more crisp

the right angle braces help stabilize the sides

screws provide a lot of shear to hold the pressure pulling away from the mounting surface

THE PROBLEM: It\'s large milk crate was taking up almost all the starboard aft storage area. I bought a vertical mount that didn\'t fit, so I made this one.

Good observation… heat is a consideration… especially for those of us who live here in the sweltering tropics. Even when pushed all the way starboard, the hull angles away to stern and upwards so there is room for convection. I will keep an eye on it moving forward… haven’t had the opportunity...
