Area 9 is now Closed to chinook fishing until thanksgiving-ish to November 30th then January 16th through April 15th. Bummer ain't it.

Area 9 opens for blackmouth on the 1st and of course crabbing is open there too. Anyone heading out?

Crabbing opens October 1st in all areas but 10. Chinook season opens on October 1st for blackmouth also.

When does the coho run end in area 9 and/or 10? Will they still be around on October 3rd or 4th in shilshole bay?

Yeah it reminds me of the black 2013 ventures that were manufactured. There were just a few of them but the hull was all black. I'll agree the 22 cruiser looks a little odd but if the venture hull was red or black then I think it would be pretty cool.

Has any one seen the 2016 22 cruiser, 23 venture, and 25 tomcat. They are all on boat trader and are really cool.

What about scent? I usually like to use procure scent, does anyone have any experience with pautzke crab and shrimp oil.? There is a video about it in use with Tom Nelson but he is a pautzke pro staffer so I was wanting some info from some of you guys. Thanks

I hate to throw back big crab that are soft shelled but I they have very little meat in them anyways. Is the water a lot more rough or does it still depend on weather/wind.

I always figured putting my pots in a protected cove, a dream spot would be shallow and the mouth of a bay so only shallow draft boats can get through. I like the mooring buoy though.

Thanks for the info, I've watched a video several times called crabbing 101 or something like that and they caught a lot more than 3 limits using turkey as bait. They threw back so many legals it must be a good bait or area, thanks for all of the replies.

Thanks for the advice, I think fishing for bottom fish like flounder could pass the time while staying close. So it's good fish away from the pack so others might miss them? I always thought if you were fishing in the pack of crab pots there would be too much traffic and pots to empty them all...
