A question about cruising at "Trawler Speed" MPGs

Here are the results of my cruising for the last couple of days. In crossing the Gulf of Mexico. 1900rpm speed 5=6 MPH 4.5 miles per gal. At 4000 rpm speed 20 mph. 70 miles used 23.3 gal = 3 miles per gal. This is loaded heavy 58gal gas, 20gal water plus all the junk to be gone a month...

    flrockytop's superloop crossing big bend

Another outstanding in Florida. Hi Mike and Mike. Mary Jo is doing her part by watching me from home on SPOT. No plans for today other than work my way down the coast. I may stop somewhere and launch the kayak. I've got about 5 more miles until I pick up the GIWW 150 mark. The water is...

    flrockytop's superloop crossing big bend

Now John, I thought you keep talking about being old. No one else remembers that. How come you do? All I remember is that SOMEONE(El?) took all the M&M's

    C-Dory with extended roof

This has worked well for me and would not make any changes. That being said, I'm getting ready to take a little trip for about a month. There is a local guy that can make the top out of fiberglass for about $500. I've seen his work and it looks factory. I'm going to check it out when I get...

    Cruising the Gulf Coast

Time limited out on me to be able to edit the other post. I did do a blog on the trip. It is here: http://superloop2009.blogspot.com/ I bought a new at the time waterway guide. You are welcome to use it. I mainly used it to price the cost of fuel. I'd call all the places around where I...

    Cruising the Gulf Coast

I took my c-22 from Pensacola to Brownsville, TX and back last year.(about 1800 miles). I was gone the entire moth of May. I had no problem finding fuel and/ or facilities. It is a great trip. I did have a bit of a weather issue. The wind blew from 20 to 30k the entire trip. It made...

Law Firm Finds Success Targeting Those Who Post Copyrighted

Saw this on another forum and thought it might be of interest. http://techland.time.com/2011/02/09/law ... ed-images/ In the past rather than link to a picture that may not be there in the future I have just added the picture in a post. This may not be a good idea.

    Installed a Keel Guard

I hope it holds up for you. I installed the Keel Guard when I fist got my 2007 cd22. After about a year, it started coming loose at each end. It comes loose from the rubber and 3m material. I am sure I'm not making myself clear. The 3m adhesive is still firmly attached but the rubber part...

Changing oil filter on Suzuki 150

Brent thanks for the link. I have been needing to change my water pump impeller for awhile, (It's got 600 hrs on it.) but didn't know what I was getting into. I watched the guy's youtube and figured I could do it. I got the parts today and did the job. It was a snap. The hardest part was...

    LED Cabin Light

Hi Harvey, I tried to go back and find the thread where Steve talked about the light an gave a link to buying it. It did not find it. But to answer your question, NO. It is a self contained unit. The guy actually built the thing inside a PVC cap. I think its about 1" maybe a little bigger. It...

    LED Cabin Light

OK Jeff, Thanks for the information. I think I'll try a couple of the 24-smd one. I am sold on the leds every since I put the LED anchor light on. That's the one that the guy in Fiji sells and Steve (Seaspray) has. I can't believe how bright that light is. Roger

    LED Cabin Light

I ordered two from the link in the other discussion. Those were only $12.99 each. They didn't fit my fixture in my CD22. (Only a single pin in the base.) but they fit the fixture in the RV just fine and work great.

    Electric trailer jack

Yes, no problem getting it off the ball with the regular manual jack. It just wouldn't go high enough for the cockpit to drain. The longer manual was too long to swing down.

    Electric trailer jack

A crankup long enough was too long to swing down on mine. I had to do it in two steps.

    Electric trailer jack

It’s not under $20 but it’s the best money since adding my freestanding canvass. The biggest pain I have with the C-dory has been that you have to jack the trailer up so high to get it to drain out of the drain plug while on the trailer. With just one of the crank up jacks it just would not go...
