Anyone know the length of CD25 from Boweye to transom?

Thanks for the replies. And thanks, Bob, I trust your judgement. I'd seen other posts showing it was around 5000 without gas, water, or extraneous gear, but maybe that's not accurate. I also just discovered that on that 6700 # trailer my CD22 is short of the minimum length by a few inches...

Anyone know the length of CD25 from Boweye to transom?

I'm getting a new trailer for my CD 22, and for just a few dollars more I can get a slightly larger trailer. In case I step up to a 25 down the road, I'm considering it. But the max length is 23' 7" from boweye to transom. So will a CD25 fit? One weight, the max net capacity is 6700 lbs...

Any tips for boating on Narragansett Bay?

Going there right after Labor Day for a week, first time boating New England coast. Any info on great marinas, best places to go, areas to avoid, or anything that might help a Narragansett newbie will be appreciated!

Adding bilge discharge... thru hull location and hose run?

Thanks, guys! Sunbeam, thanks for all the detail, I always enjoy reading your posts. I agree, don't want to be too high. I've seen a few here that put it just under the rub rail, and on my boat it looks like I'll still be able to loop it. (And I've read that a good rise over the heeled...

Adding bilge discharge... thru hull location and hose run?

I'm adding a backup bilge pump, and will be using 1 1/2" hose (on a Rule 3700). I've looked at several posts but am still a bit unsure as to where I want the thru hull discharge, and which fitting is best. Any advice? I'm hesitant to simply enlarge the port laz discharge... I just use it for...

My new favorite Fishfinder, doesn't lose contact at speed!

Just finished installing and testing a new Lowrance Hook-4 w/GPS, and it's the best I've ever had, hands down. It took it out all day on what are, at least for me and my area, the most challenging areas for a depthfinder... soft mucky bottoms and steep drop offs. Did not lose bottom contact...

Best way to wire Kicker w/2 batteries - VSR vs. 2 switches

I finished the kicker install and tested yesterday. I ended up with my "simple" approach, I just ran 10AWG direct from the House battery, 10a fuse, to a BEP/Marinco 701 Battery Disconnect Switch, and kicker connected to the other pole of that switch. Very happy with this setup, I'll post some...

Kicker w/ Mini-Jacker - possibly dumb questions on clearance

Many thanks to all who helped and created such excellent tutorials! Went out yesterday to begin breaking in the kicker, and all performed flawlessly. Clearances were fine, turning was great, no tab interference, and the prop/skeg didn't drag at any speed... just a little spray. It was nice to...

Battery terminal fuse block - what size fuse?

Thanks Brent and Bob... I appreciate it!

Battery terminal fuse block - what size fuse?

I'm re-wiring and updating some electronics, trying to bring things up to ABYC standards. I have a couple of Blue Sea battery terminal fuse blocks, one for each battery. I also have a 50 amp main breaker in the starboard lazarette. What size fuse should I be using? I was thinking 50? The...

Best way to wire Kicker w/2 batteries - VSR vs. 2 switches

Thanks, Greg. To clarify, in case this helps someone down the road, Yes to your first point, that's what my intended approach does, with an on/off switch for the kicker. And it will be wired to just the #2 House battery. (I should probably create a simple schematic at some point in case it...

Best way to wire Kicker w/2 batteries - VSR vs. 2 switches

Thanks for the reply, Greg. Huh, I've never experienced it, but I've read that connecting 2 engines together will fry the coils or alternators, probably on the smallest alternator first, when both engines are running. 6 amps going into the honda probably won't do anything, but 16amps from the...

Best way to wire Kicker w/2 batteries - VSR vs. 2 switches

I've read up here and THT and I still need a little advice... I have new Tohatsu 6HP Sail Pro, that charges at max 6A (not much but every bit helps), manual start. Main is Honda 90 with a standard 3 way Perko switch (Off/1/Both/2) to 2 batteries (#1 Hybrid starting, #2 Deep cycle House)...

Is the C-Brats server slow, or is it me?

Noticed this just a couple days ago, takes at least 30 seconds to load each page. I'm guessing they're doing some maintenance or other code work?

Kicker w/ Mini-Jacker - possibly dumb questions on clearance

Thanks, Colby. No need to look under the cover, I was just curious, because there are definitely no bolt holes on mine. And I think you're right, it's just the 2 screw clamps. I drilled and filled my mini jacker holes today, letting them cure overnight and then I should be able to mount the...

Kicker w/ Mini-Jacker - possibly dumb questions on clearance

Thanks, Colby, that makes sense and I planned on doing the same. Just curious, did your Tohatsu have any predrilled holes for bolts?

Kicker w/ Mini-Jacker - possibly dumb questions on clearance

Thanks for the replies. I just found Colby's install with essentially the same setup, and indeed he used that notched bracket at the bottom for bolting. I'm trying to attach photo here but it's also in my album if this doesn't work: http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _photo.php It's...

Kicker w/ Mini-Jacker - possibly dumb questions on clearance

So I have my new Tohatsu 6Hp Sail Pro (all manual tilt, 20" shaft) on the mini-jacker, clamped to the starboard transom for some test fitting. There are photos in my album. Maybe these are dumb questions but before I work up the courage to drill through the transom I thought I'd double check...
