Update in case it helps someone later: I raised it one more hole and what a difference. I now get 5500 at 30mph, and that was with a loaded boat with maybe 250 extra lbs... on an unloaded boat I'm sure I'd get 6000. The chain is still out fo the boat and I'll keep it that way. Haven't tried it...

Note the small hydraulic arms for the gull wing. Just push a lever and the gull wing hatch opens by itself. Pull the rope and it latches back down. Brilliant!
